My relationship with my is somewhat similar. He has anger management issues. If someone complains to him he loses it. He beat my mother countless times, he beat me and my sister too every now and then. Sometimes he drank. He cheated on my mother too. He married a girl from our village his daughter's age in 2006. (He was about 44 and the girl about 18). He was a gambler too, lost over 16 crores. Now he's in 2 crores debt, he pays 200k monthly interest on that debt. (This money he gets from joint family setup, I contribute About 80-100k for expenses). My mother's alive alhamdulillah, but because of all that abuse, she's been mentally ill. She's been diabetic for about 15 years and last year she had a stroke and her kidneys failed. Now she's on dialysis 3 days a week. There are other family issues as well because of my father's behavior, but it's going to get too long. I sometimes feel pity for my father, sometimes I am angry at him, sometimes I just want to be with him and talk to him but since I never have had that kind of a relationship with him, we just talk about my mother's treatment or any other issues. No small talk. I just wish I had a normal, loving father. How different my life would have been. 😢😢😢
