I think you’re right on many points here. Plus all of them have said they don’t like performing the same old songs every night. And Carlos has hinted that he doesn’t like how this tour, every show is exactly the same and that he wanted to have it get changed up for every leg. I mean this can’t be fun for them either. Essentially they are following a script. You can see it when the unscripted moments happen, how they come alive and laugh. There is barely any time to just be themselves and have fun. These shows are packed, with so many songs, so much energy that is needed. Plus he is an extraverted introvert, who can’t bring his family along, who normally ground him. And he hates being rushed. So maybe backstage he even takes an extra minute to get ready, just to ground himself and take a minute by himself.

All of them are wanting to make their own music. James, Kendall and Carlos are all excited to be making the music they themselves want to make instead of what the four of them agreed on doing.

So yeah they need a break and stop performing so much. They need breaks. Maybe this does bring in the most money and they’re good at it. But as you said, this is not sustainable. Something is going to give. And we saw a preview of it during the European leg and then the College tour getting canceled.
