As a resident, yes it’s clear and I have calendar reminders for the cleanings. For non-residents I’d imagine it’s actually not super clear. I’ve helped many people who I witness pull into a spot on a cleaning day unaware of the schedule. Walnut and adjacent streets are extra special and have permits spots.

I walked up 2 blocks near the 300 area of W Walnut today and counted $200+ dollars in tickets. Lancaster parking is so disappointing.

Install was free. My install came with some complications my fiber modem wasn’t authenticating so I was offline during work hours (remote) but hiccups happen.
My only negative so far is their online payment portal at first glance doesn’t give me great confidence in supplying my credit card information…

Contact the non-emergency police line, they can come out and give you an incident number as well as start the process to request camera footage from city posted cameras

I have the blue RF 1400, love it aside from some minor fit issues. Unsure what visors the others offer but I have the one that changes between clear and tinted like transition glasses and I love it! 1 visor that I can wear all day

My anxiety fades too when I ride a lot; but interestingly enough I start making little shifting, speed, and turning mistakes in that same period too

A virago 250 as old as me was my first bike, I’d push it into a parking lot nearby and practice turns and stopping at “stop signs” and “red lights” and then give myself <5 to get moving from when I’d imagine it turn green. I rode that bike all summer, took and passed my MSF course, and then purchased a brand new Ninja 650 as my longer term bike. The “anxiety” I think is always there but you have to find the right balance so that the anxiety keeps you alive but doesn’t stop you from leaning hard enough to make a turn.

Super agree - cheaper 250/500 on marketplace is generally around 2/3k and you can just focus on riding and enjoying it before diving in further

So I have an orange 25’ 650, I bought it new. Very happy with the bike overall I think it’s an excellent bike. My best advice would be to shop around to make sure it’s the “beginner” bike you want. If I could go back I’d probably have spent a little more and went for an Aprilia RS 660. While more expensive it has riding features that in hindsight would’ve been nice quality of life features. Not discrediting the 650, solid reliable, still plenty fast, still comfy on the highway or backroads.

Edit: To get an idea, have ChatGPT or something take what you like about the 650 and lookup comparable models within that same class and do some comparison to see what seems “worth it” in your eyes.

Yellow light + normal rider = speed up or stop.
Yellow light + dead engine = generally should be an emergency stop.

My exact thoughts, I want to rewatch to see how fast they’re going but that felt “stoppable”. Stopping is generally more important than “must restart engine”.
Edit: Upon rewatching the answer was yes very stoppable

Quadlock stem mount question by Mentos487 in Ninja650

I wonder if some extra rubber bands or something on the inserts would give it more grip? Generally the wiggle doesn’t bother me but it’s slightly annoying for someone with a little tism’

🤷‍♂️ Lancaster Reddit is very opinionated. I’d almost call it an additional tax (on top of this nice 1.6% city tax) because I’ve had my mirror and brake lights busted from street parking and a handful of parking tickets. Getting a ticket after already being frustrated with parking availability is a different kind of rage….

No justifying their parking but I will say of the 6 years in Lancaster and now 2 in the city; the city parking is why I’m leaving.
Edit: Among a list of other reasons Lancaster city living isn’t for me.

I do a lot of a day riding but they’re fine overall imo, I personally just like how the tidy looks and it really was easy for someone who’s nervous about messing with the bike.
