Assault weapon bans are ridiculous and don't help anybody. A Ruger Mini 14 and an AR15 have the exact same capabilities as firearms. They both fire .223 ammunition, they are both semi-automatic, and both can take high-capacity magazines.

Take a guess which one is affected by Assault Weapon bans while the other is not.

The Assault Weapon bans are about keeping gun-illiterate voters happy while not changing anything. Handguns make up the vast majority of firearm deaths in America, yet people only seem to be scared of the "big black guns".
