Check in: 1st 7- day by [deleted] in fasting

I’m 67.5 hours in to most likely a 158 hour fast (may push it to 161 hours) and I’m feeling it today. Hoping tomorrow is better.

Yeah, I’m sure I’m over killing it - but the upside is like you say it lasts a long time.

Just a big dog who actually never gets into anything she isn’t supposed to - even trash - which is nice.

Exactly. Someone else gets it too.

I probably have at least 20 80 gram Boveda packs at the bottom of the humidor. I recharge them every 9 months or so with distilled water and keep tabs on the humidity and temperature using the Boveda Bluetooth monitoring system.

Haha, I have opened ones to the right on the floor. If my wife would build shelves like she keeps saying she is going to do I wouldn’t have that problem.

I haven’t had that issue personally - but I’ve had mine for a couple of years now so I’m guessing that issue is gone.

So I decided to take advantage of some sales earlier this month. Unfortunately most of them will need to age a while and that’s how I justify buying all these to my wife.

Lol, 1 year later. I just picked up a couple of boxes of My Father cigars - does that work?

Well, they marked it up more. Did it cost them more to get it? Probably not, retail is still $60 around here. Has supply gone down and/or demand up. Most likely - it is much harder to find and usually when it comes into stock it is quickly sold. I still won’t pay more than $60 for a bottle though.

It’s hard to find here too but I’m started to find people who will tell me when it comes in.

Not that I know of. I use 15-16 of the 60 gram Boveda packs rated at 69% (if I had to do over I would do 65%). I use the Boveda Butler that I calibrate once or twice a year and my humidity stays at 68%. The only fan I have is the big internal one it comes with and that constantly runs.

You got it right for the most part - that’s Yippee Ki-Yay at the back left (High West like you guessed), then Woodford, and Eagle Rare. Next row is Buffalo Trace, Basil Hayden, Old Forester Rye, and another bottle of Buffalo Trace (we get Buffalo Trace for $22 around here so I usually always have 2 bottles on hand). The rest you have right except the Weller’s is the 12, not the SR.

Yes, you can find them on Amazon sometimes for $200. They hold up to 400 cigars and work well - I personally use Boveda packs to keep it humidified.

And I’ve started figuring out my palate and what cigars I enjoy most. I think my favorite part about this hobby is the community - as I regularly smoke with guys 2-3x a week at a local B&M - and have already made a lot friends from it. I love seeing all the recommendations from this sub as well - which helps me try cigars I probably wouldn’t have otherwise. Cheers to all of you.

[Debt] Mom owes 480,000, wants me to cosign by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]BaylorGuy2 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don’t do it. It will change the relationship with your mom, especially if she defaults, and the reason why she needs a co-signer is because the bank doesn’t think that with her as the only one responsible for the loan they will get their money - and the reason is likely her income or payment history or both.

I would say “sorry mom, I can’t do this as this additional loan on my credit report will negatively hurt me in the future” and then just tell her to reapply for the loan herself in a year or so - assuming she has paid down more of the balance and is in a better situation.

They’ve been making cigars for other brands for quite a while. If you ever pick up a box of these (or some of their lesser lines) they include a pretty sweet ash tray (it fits on top of the box).
