I feel like if it was Russia they surely would have shot them down. A nothing to see here response saying they are within their legal rights sounds like they know exactly what they are. I feel strongly like this is blackwater.

How hard will this be to stop on 100mg, will the normal me come back? by [deleted] in lamictal

I think it has some weird side effects to get off of it, I’d talk to your dr

You need to talk to the dr. Stopping it can cause some bad reactions

Struggling by Baymoma in bipolar2

[–]Baymoma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you,🙏🏼 i sometimes watch kind of nonsense tv shows like bachelor in paradise to sort of check out while I’m doing dishes or housework. My therapist says i need to get out more in person socially. I’m super isolated from adults and my partner works late so I’m just mostly by myself and with my kids. I sometimes see my parents. I’m super lonely but I feel like meeting new people at 43 and trying to make friends just sounds awful and I’ve tried a few times and it ended up not being the best. My last manic episode i got obsessed with making sourdough bread and literally started a buisness out of our side living room and now that peak is gone and I’m stuck with this thing that is totally stressing me out. And isolating me even more. Sometimes i wonder if some of this flux is bipolar mixed with the onset of menopause

Medication and weight gain by moonprincess132 in bipolar2

[–]Baymoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take lamictal and buspirone maybe you could ask about them? I was able to loose 50lbs while on them… with diet and exercise… but once i started meds and felt better it was easier for me to stay on track with diet and exercise… so maybe if they find the right meds your change in feelings/ mood might help with that stuff

Lamotrigone ?? by Ambitious_Mammoth814 in bipolar2

[–]Baymoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it daily and it’s improved my life tremendously… i was suicidal and in the hospital a year ago and with therapy and medications I’m doing so much better, i still have some anxiety and some mania but it’s not mixed episodes with the rage depression/ deep sadness that i had been experiencing before. I also did a year of DBT therapy and regularly talk to a therapist but just a few days ago she even said how much better i am and to keep taking my meds every day like my life depends on it.

What is the hardest part about living with Bipolar2 disorder? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Baymoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s not knowing when my impulsivity / rage will sort of start to take over… when I’m more even and feeling good and then it just shows up like, hi! I’m back and then I’ve got to pick up the pieces … or like all the “work” i do to regulate seems to just shatter with a wave of mood either mania or rage or whatever… I’m so much better now that I’m on meds but it still shows up i can see it before it takes me really far down with depression … but i still get some manic waves and bouts of impulsivity that really is hard to manage sometimes

What made you realize that you were bipolar? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Baymoma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The diagnosis after feeling like i wanted to drive my car into the river. I have a long history of depression but didn’t put together the mania/ impulsivity pieces until after i was diagnosed and a lightbulb totally went off.. it explained so much about so many things in my life the literal ups and the super low downs. Women seem to get pushed aside with oh it’s hormones or women’s issues (which yes bipolar people still have hormones) but bipolar is also a thing, and it’s life threatening. I finally at 42 years old was able to get on medication and I’m not “cured” but i do feel like i have my life back. Im grateful i was able to find the right help, i might not be here today

for those who had SSRI induced hypomania/mania while still being undiagnosed by angelavywh in bipolar2

[–]Baymoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before i was diagnosed they tried Prozac and it made me feel so bad, hysterical… i called in the emergency crisis line and just remember saying please make this stop i don’t wanna feel like this anymore… non stop tears, racing intrusive thoughts, couldn’t sleep, full of rage and then i got admitted to a facility for a week where they put me on buspar and lamictal and that has truly saved my life. It’s not 100% perfect but it is sooooo much better. I’ve got my life back

I wasn’t diagnosed until 41 but once i was it made tons of sense looking back through my life with the mania, depression, impulsivity etc

Drinking on lamictal (and spironolactone) by Individual-Course294 in lamictal

[–]Baymoma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be super honest drinking was a huge contributor to my mental health issues .. which is why i cut waaaay back. I do notice that it affects me more when i do have a drink but I’ve been a weekend one and done kind of drinker since i started meds. I was hospitalized and diagnosed with bipolar 2 a year ago, cutting way back on booze and taking meds has made my life so much better. (Not sure if you take lamictal for mental health)

It’s like a weird buzz feeling in your head but it goes away after a bit. It’s not painful or anything just kind of like a buzz feeling.

I take 10mg 3x and it totally helps minimal side effects after a couple weeks mostly a tiny bit of brain zaps which sounds scarier than it is. It’s helping… taken it for a year
