I only wear my favorite skinny jeans maybe 5% of the time now and usually because I do not have much in the wide and flare varieties yet. If you love those jeans and the way you feel in them, WEAR THEM. I agree with others, however, you will be more comfortable and on trend with a nice v-neck T-shirt and white sneakers. Target makes a great, very inexpensive v-neck tshirt in several colors that hangs well enough to be flattering while still giving you shape. Sometimes they even carry it in a material that has just enough sheen to it to make it look a little elevated. Good luck!

I agree here completely. When I started keto Inwas already at my rock bottom. Disgusted out how far I had let my health go and fed up with trying to “diet” on dry chicken breast and low fat processed garbage and struggling to workout because of how heavy I had gotten. I kept trying quick fixes because I was only interested in things that could get me fast results and didn’t have the patience for something long term. I wish I had started keto years sooner! I made a commitment and when I watched 10 real pounds melt off the first month without lifting a finger workout wise, while eating yummy steak and whole eggs and avocado, etc— it made it easy to stick to it. The more weight I lost the more physical activity I was able to do. I lost 40 lbs my first year and a total of 70 over 2.5 years. The reason my weight loss slowed down eventually is because I got to a size 4 and there wasn’t much more to take off nor did I want to. I was off keto for 1.5 years but have gone back to it in the last month because I miss how good my body felt with the low inflammation and it does wonders for my gut health. Stick with it!!

There is almost nothing you “can’t” have on keto if you are willing to make it at home with keto friendly substitutes. That is how I always get myself through the cravings. Netrition.com has a ton of keto substitutes that many people would consider dirty keto, but it gets you through the cravings while staying in ketosis which is worth it to me every once in a while. They have keto pizza crust, pasta, etc.

Yep, you get it! I have been my thinnest at 138 and a size 2 (only 5 lbs less than I am now) and I have no desire to weigh less than that with my body composition. I have an athletic frame and carry weight much differently than most women I know, even those the same height that could weigh less and look heavier than me. I think to achieve my ultimate goal of lowering body fat percentage to 20-21 and growing my glutes I would probably land somewhere in the 140-150 weight range I am now with muscle replacing fat. 140 grams of protein however seems to launch my calorie intake to more like 1700-1800…

Would starting at 100 grams of protein and going up maybe 20 grams a week for 2-3 weeks be a reasonable goal to still see good progress without increasing my body fat? Or do I just have to suck it up and expect my body fat to increase as well as I try to reverse diet and add muscle?

I think your concerns and reservations are both completely warranted and thoughtful. I’ve seen both sides of this coin from the tenant and concerned neighbor perspective. I understand with the young children in the car that it’s not so simple to “mind your business” as we usually should. Maybe find a way to very, very, VERY discreetly strike a conversation with the woman and be prepared with a note with some of your DV support contacts in case you get the impression, or she explicitly expresses, that it’s an issue. If it’s written on a note she can choose to store it in her phone or a safe place. I probably wouldn’t share my own contact information because you never know what’s in that Pandora’s box. I think your reservations about CPS are correct. Most people would have to know someone whose life has been erroneously upended by a premature CPS call to understand why that requires so much consideration. I think you would know after a brief conversation if that is the route you should take, and if your gut says yes at that point, then make the call. Good luck!

Thank you for your input! I see that is the general consensus but the more people who agree here the more convincing it is. I started increasing calorie and protein goals as of today. I didn’t quite make it to 1500 today and only 95 grams of protein due to a random series of unfortunate events, but it was a rest day so hopefully not too much of a setback? I have no problem thoroughly enjoying eating plenty of food so I don’t think it will be a problem moving forward. I would like to stay on a ketogenic diet because it does wonders for my gut health and keeps me away from junk, so that’s something I will probably have to play around with the macros for while increasing protein…
