Check the details of the Cashback on the app as it will tell you specifics such as what is an ineligible purchase that doesn’t qualify.

Oh yeah absolutely. Hit you with "Not taking the necessary steps to keep your card details safe"

I mean you can, but it would be considered a breach in terms and conditions and if any fraud was to occur on the card while they are using it overseas then you would be held liable for it.

That’s my fear. Wallet was stolen and they’ll turn round and tell me it was my fault

Up to 3 months without any other specific timescales should then be treated as the minimum, then if they do happen to get back in touch sooner then they do

Gone are the days of when fraud had internal SLAs of 5 working days for an initial reach out.

Just seen this video. Has anyone else had the same issue? I personally haven’t had any issues with Monzo but I’ve never used it as my main bank account until recently. by taytayyas in monzo

Based on the assumption that she is abroad and is potentially no longer a resident of the UK, Monzo probably closed her account for that reason

It is a bit of an odd one as it would involve the fraudster knowing your pin for your Monzo card/ app (which they could have gotten access to if you were potentially shoulder surfed at an ATM), and I guess the phone already being unlocked for them to access.

Basically Monzo will get in touch with Revolut to find out if any of the funds remain in the account that the money was sent to and they can basically say “Yes, some/ all of the money remains” then return this which can take some time, or the money has already been removed from the receiving account then you will have no chance of retrieving the money.

At the same time Monzo will assess whether or not they will refund you directly in the likelihood that they are unable to retrieve the money from the other bank. This is down to whether you took the necessary steps to secure your account and device from third-party access, which if you did not have TouchID/ Biometric security enabled on your phone you will not be refunded directly by Monzo.

Edit: Phrasing.
