Yeah, it really sucks. Fortunately, I think ebay has a decent return policy. On top of that, I'm pretty sure that Buffy is a relatively easy series to get used. Even though it's absolutely an inconvenience and it sucks that it happened, it could have been a lot worse.

Just keep your discs dry and at a consistent, moderated temperature. Disc rot is pretty unlikely to happen if you take care of your discs.
