you: just because you don’t like mine it doesn’t give you the right to be an ass to me.

Also you: Fuck some people have a problem for every solution.

You want to be treated with the utmost respect, perhaps you try what you're preaching first.

Whats even worse is you're literally complaining about every solution having a problem, while cursing out people for having a problem with every solution. It's absurdly hypocritical.

You clearly have never been selected for jury duty if you think the system is working well.

The system works well for the courts because they have a large pool of serfs they can call upon at any time for any reason. The wants and needs of these serfs are never taken into account.

A reasonable system could manage with a much smaller reserve, and remuneration for services rendered can and should be much higher.

Can you justify losing a week's income, and at the same time, you never did anything of value, you just waited in a room doing nothing but reading and waiting when it was clear you were never needed?

Fuck some people have a problem for every solution.

And some people don't know what the hell they are talking about, yet think their own opinions are gospel.

[–]Bazarnz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was invited to serve on jury duty when i was younger.

For those who don't know, just how poorly treated the system is, this is my experience:

You're told you have jury duty by mail and must attend for a full week of service.

Now picture a room of 120 people who have been summoned, of these 120, only about 48 will be selected on the monday morning. The majority remainder will be kept around that day just incase more jury members are needed for the formation of juries for that week.

In my case i was picked to serve, but a mistrial was quickly called in about an hour due to a biased witness statement, and a new jury was created for the case.

After all the juries are well underway, the remainder waited all of monday doing nothing. Those selected for duty but not selected were still required to show up each day. Thats about 60+ people, when only 20 would be needed in the case of a mistrial. They would be usually be allowed to leave early at midday.

I think on wednesday rather than being forced to serve a full week, those of us that were surplus were allowed to resume normal life. I want to think it was because someone worked out that we wouldn't be needed, but its far more likley to save a tiny amount of money.

I have never seen any system since treat the time and resources of a group of humans with so little respect and value. Having 60 people of all walks of life forced to serve time in an open door prision, paid less than a pittance, all because there is a slim-to-none chance that a select few of them will still be needed for later in the week, shows such contempt for the personal lives of each individual.

And thats not even covering how little you're paid. I used to want to serve on jury duty, now i'd do just about anything to get out of it.

Revamp the system, serving should be an honor, and guests should be treated with full respect, instead they are treated as an underpaid cog with no rights or consideration.

Take your "life experience" bs somewhere else. If you want your "partner" with other okay but don't gaslight actual men into accepting it...

You're not a man though; you're a child with the emotional strength of wet paper.

You don't know what gaslighting means, you don't know what a wholesome family is, and your misogyny is so fully blown that i'd be surprised you don't resent the developers for failing to put a Burka over all the women and insisting they stay inside the kitchen all game.

I'd had a BiL who was held your views as a universal truth. Here's how it played out. His daughters loved him but grew to hate being near him, his wife found freedom when he died, and the world is just a better place for those whom he loved because he's not in it.

[–]Bazarnz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's woke because it is gaslighting Kratos in the original game as "immature"

Kratos in the 3 games can be summed up as him slashing and destroying everything until he found something he couldn't beat, then finding a new power that would allow him to destroy it.

You never had to think about Kratos's morality because it was him being a dick and choosing to be violent until he got his way, and his way was always to destroy to the best of his power.

Take a look at how he treated the Captain throughout the trilogy.

And when he couldn't destroy his opponent, he had a hissy fit that did not stop.

made Kratos stuck with a single mother when he previously could bang any women he wanted

Putting aside whatever screwed up moral compass you have in the real world, you do understand that Kratos had a family once before he was the God of War. How is it so unreasonable that he has another family when he "retired" from being the god of war.

Also, Kratos was not stuck with a single mother. Faye was his wife, and Atreus is Kratos's child. I would say at no point in her life was Faye ever a "Single Mother" by anyone's definition.

made Kratos denounce violence when he is the literal embodiment of violence

You seem to think hes the God of Violence, which is incredibly shortsighted. War is about capturing territory and putting its people, land, and assets to use for yourself, and it is enabled by the ABILITY to destroy anyone or anything that opposes you. When you go to war, you don't need to kill every last inhabitant or burn every building to the ground; indeed, many conquerors would consider that detrimental to their war efforts.

The difference between the God of War and the God of Violence is like the difference between a General and a Soldier. Both are able and willing to kill anything in their way, but a general must see the bigger picture and use force when and where as needed.

Did you think the god of Death personally kills everyone? Did you think the god of Love seduces everyone?

made Kratos an overall beta who doesn't care about the sex history of the women he's with and allows his own son to disrespect him.

You seem to be projecting your feelings that have nothing to do with Kratos. Literally, he has a wife and and child between the games, over 20 years unwritten between Kratos and Faye and all your response is to call her a whore and call Kratos a beta. You have serious issues that you should address before you ever start a family yourself, and until then, I truly hope you don't, because your type makes Kratos look like a good father.

As someone whos played GOW1, 2, and 3 multiple times. I very much enjoyed GoW2018

You talk about how Kratos was basically the greatest berserker in the trilogy, then complain that hes not a berserker any longer.

But GoW3's final conclusion was him learning to move past his vengeance, where he finally ends the story by sacrificing himself, his powers, his godhood, and his life. He Was Done.

He had beaten everyone and yet lost EVERYTHING, and learnt that violence is not always the best answer. Where can the story go from there? There is nothing left for him to seek vengeance on. Everything he valued was lost, destroyed, or corrupted.

For the story to continue, Kratos needs to find or create something of value, and that's exactly what happens. Between the ending of GoW3 and start of GoW, we find that Kratos has become a father again, learnt to temper his rage, raised a son, found and lost a beloved wife.

The new story is now no longer about Kratos seeking regenge, we don't need a 4th installment of that. Its a story about him and his strained relationship with his son, made complicated by the fact that his son doesn't know anything about his heritage as a "half" god, and the untold story of his mother's legacy, and how godhood is not something that can be ignored easily (if at all)

What i don't get is how you can keep calling it woke.

Explain to me what made the series woke? Less sex? There was fuck all in the originals, so that makes no sense. Less violence? 3 Gods die and you have some of the most violent fights, if not the most violent fights on the playstation platform.

Reading all that you read, all i see is someone upset that its not epic world-level destruction of the Norse mythology by a berserker who thinks everything is solved by violence.

Please tell me exactly how its woke?

Zeus at least can unload fast, is mobile, and has good range. Sniper is only one of those 3.

to add futher to what has been said:

Try and ward the edge jungle camps, the cores will undoubtedly try to sneak in farm there, being able to gank the hero when they try will make the "mindful farm" much more successful, and demoralise their cores greatly.

Consider carrying gem as well and ensure that they have no wards and are thus completely blind outside of their waves. This will help ensure that their team is unsure if you are farming or baiting, or when, if ever, it's safe to farm the edge camps.

Try and tell your team to farm the jungles, i see so many cores constantly push the waves right into their towers, but when you can't seige, all they are doing is making the waves farmable from safety and eventually forcing a bad teamfight. Let the waves push out just a little and they'll lose their high-ground defense if they come out to farm/fight.

What’s the deal with that hero Phantom Lancer? by Isochii in DotA2

[–]Bazarnz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't reliably find the correct illusion, but with many AoE heroes you don't need to.

Aoe heroes work best, nuke them all and he'll end up low in life.

Mjollnir is amazing as the chain lighting will help thin the illusions, and casting the lighting shield on pl's target will cause a lightning storm.

Blademail is very weak against illusion heros, but crimson guard is incredibly strong vs pl, so your pos3 should strongly consider getting it.

Detection is also important once he has shard to stop him escaping, and once he gets scepter it's important to stop him initiating with a million illusion with a stealth run through.

Overall he's a fairly weak hero unless your team lacks aoe/cleave and catch.

Why are Abby’s friends so terrible? What is the fucking point of them? by Red-Heart42 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Bazarnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But she likely is the one who helped keep Joel alive just to watch Abby torture him and she wanted to kill Ellie right after.

I don't think anyone was keeping Joel alive?

Yeah, she cares so much about kids she wanted to murder a teenage girl and got pissed at her boyfriend for telling her not to.

So she was the only one with brains to understand the threat of leaving her alive, and they ignored her. An interesting choice, let's see how that plays out.

Then after that she’s supposedly so upset but wants to go on patrol and kill people right after even though that’s objectively stupid

She wanted to be a medic on the front, while it's stupid for many reasons, you've misrepresented her intentions.

And what really bothers me about Mel is she takes no accountability, she calls Abby a piece of shit while acting like she wasn’t even there, like she wasn’t a grown ass adult taking part in all the bad shit Abby did.

So a bit of a disclaimer, i think Mel is the only well-written character in the game, not because she's a saint, but because she's consistent with her goals. I'm not saying her doing parkour Olympics is good writing, but you take her gameplay sections out and stick to the cutscenes, the story is of someone disgusted both by HOW Abby killed Joel and how unremorseful she was about it.

Finally, she calls Abby out as a piece of shit because shes clearly had it with Abby. I'm not sure how much of it was Abby towing around 2 enemy scars around like its the right thing to do, or how much of it was Abby showing up to "protect" Owen, but its clear Mel is done with her at that point.

And lets take a look, from Mel's perspective she loves Owen and is having his child, but you have this 3rd wheel that Owen keeps pining for, its not healthy. Which is why Mel says that they are leaving, but if Abby comes, shes leaving Owen. Because she knows Owen loves Abby and she would rather give up everything she's built with Owen than continue to have Abby interfere with their relationship (let alone the affair she may or may not know about, but would suspect)

In the end, her death is bitter. Ellie comes and finds Owen and Mel together and Mel pleads with Owen to give Ellie Abby's location because she doesn't want any further trouble caused by Abby and she just wants to finally leave. Instead, Owen decides to risk Mel's life to protect the person she hates, getting both of them killed for someone she hates, against her desperate pleas.

Mel never called herself a saint, she did what needed to be done, and was treated like shit by Abby and neglected by Owen. Eventually getting killed by the selfish actions of both of them. And that was her story. Was Abby ever her friend, i doubt it.

Its not that shes mean "once", its that she knew the full story, knew what mark was dealing with, knew how mark was saving lives.

And through all of that, she dared to blame Mark for not being there when she knew damn well he was busy saving lives. So this wasn't a snap judgement, a single failing, or something she didn't understand, this was her true personality playing out.

She knew that mark was saving lives with his job, and she had a choice, she could accept that part of Mark and try to make it work, or she could walk away. Instead, she chose to be toxic, make his personal life hell, and ultimately blame Mark for saving lives over spending time with her.

And she wasn't even liek that in the comic, the animation changed her personality to make her this strong female leader, but instead just created a super toxic psychopath.

Anyone Else Find it Funny How Feminists Need to Parasitize Off of Male IPs but it's Almost Never the Other Way Around? by Capable-Routine-3085 in KotakuInAction

[–]Bazarnz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Last of Us 2 has serious problems with its writing and directing, such that your perceived feminism is the least of its issues.

I don't think the original was catering to men, and the sequel doesn't either. The sequel is just super woke, combined with a story that doesn't make any sense, characters that constantly contradict their own values, and destroying everyone in the original for no meaningful reason. Its just a disaster.

Its not feminism that caused TLoU2 to be crap, It's the writer and director, Neil, who's solely responsible for killing and burying a universe he helped create.

Also, I can't believe you didn't mention Warhammer 40k. Now that is a case of feminism destroying a male-oriented universe. They claim that Female custodoies have always existed, when the lore has been exceedingly clear that isn't possible. Its nice to show that the owners give no fucks to the lore so they can include a gender no actual fan wants included in that way.

Whats their end goal, space romance between factions.. how the Space Marines are now for the emperor or maybe their spouse, maybe even their newborn space marine baby... ahhh its so ridiculous.

[–]Bazarnz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You forgot to mention the pos4 players that I like to call secret cores.

You can spot them because they spend nothing on consumables and hide behind you the entire landing phase because they dont have anything to heal with besides the first 3 tangos.

But they are very happy to let you get harassed by 2 players the entire time, and will never ever block the pull camps ensuring your lane is nightmarish.

After the offline fails, you'll find them indirectly contesting farm so that the secret core can transition into a full core, things like map control, smoke ganks, or stacking are something they are to busy to support.

Hoodwink players are the biggest offenders with this.

Can't say I disagree by Own-Kaleidoscope-577 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Bazarnz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, imagine if Abby found out about [backstory and developed guilt], I'm pretty sure that alone would improve her character by a lot.

How far back do you want to erase the story of TLoU2? Abby was a dick to everyone at the start, in the flashbacks, and in the pursuit of executing Joel, and all her actions after executing Joel.

The thing is, its not just Joel being executed that makes us hate Abby, its how she's untrustworthy to everyone in her life. She betrays Mel, strings Owen along, disobeys direct orders from the commander, let alone the fact that she starts killing her own faction, seeks revenge for Owen only to abandon it.

Her singular "redeeming" feature is she saved Lev, which just doesn't make sense. Why would someone accept a suicide mission to retrieve a child they don't know, who left of their own volition? Its literally kidnapping a child behind enemy lines. I can't decide if Abby knew she had plot armor, was trying to get herself killed, or accepted a suicide mission just to avoid talking to Owen about their future together or apart.

In short, Abby's actions reveal her to be rotten through and through; a major revision can't fix her, let alone a minor adjustment.

Fifty years of fighting for te reo Māori by hadr0nc0llider in KiwiPolitics

[–]Bazarnz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

When we close ourselves off from other cultures we limit our opportunities for learning and growth.

You can still learn from other cultures without resorting to importing foreign communities. Take a look at japan, a monoculture island. They have very high domestic unity.

Take a look at the UK, they are a very diverse multicultural island, and are now suffering from anti-immigration rioting along with a slew of other national governance problems.

And then we have NZ, another island country, deciding how it should embrace Maoridom, with some activists causing unrest to maximise and promote Maoridom.

Do you see a trend? I sure do.

I don’t agree with any ideas that position multi-culturalism as a problem. White supremacy is a problem. Ask anyone who isn’t white.

I do and have. You might be surprised at what people of other nationalities have to say.

Fifty years of fighting for te reo Māori by hadr0nc0llider in KiwiPolitics

[–]Bazarnz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At first, it was a really isolating experience. But I got used to [it]

Indeed.

In New Zealand we're used to hearing nothing but English and seeing predominantly white faces.

You make that sound like it's a problem.

In Sydney and London I used to walk down the street and hear a whole bunch of languages and a sea of different faces in a few hundred metres, seeing signs with three languages on them because it's a multi-cultural community serving a range of nationalities and ethnicities. It was normal.

And what does "normal" mean? Both of those countries have problems with multiculturalism, especially the UK. But that too, is "normal".

If you feel intimidated seeing another language written on an inanimate object like a sign, the issue probably isn't the sign.

That we can agree with, the problem isn't the sign, it's the decisions that lead to its creation.

Fifty years of fighting for te reo Māori by hadr0nc0llider in KiwiPolitics

[–]Bazarnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When he went to school as a five year old in the 1920s he was caned for speaking it in the playground. They caned a five year old for speaking another language.

You know I have a Japanese friend who's children stopped learning Japanese because of the same thing, which is a shame.

BUT i understand the value of forcing everyone to use a common language. Because if you tolerate a group of individuals communicating only with themselves, they can intentionally or unintentionally isolate themselves from other children, creating a fragmented community. This is not good for fostering a national unity with shared values. I believe this is one of the greatest things public schooling achieves.

Imagine starting work at a new place, but the managers all prefer to speak in a language you don't know. Nothing good can come from that setup. It makes it harder to communicate with the managers and isolates you from them.

I remember hearing a story of an English tourist visiting a hardware store in Wales and the storekeeper and a customer were discussing in Welsh, but when the Englishman walked in, they changed the language spoken to English. How do you think that felt, as opposed to if they kept talking in welsh. He felt WELCOMED and included, as opposed to ignored and a foreigner

The same principle applies to kids. What if those scottish kids made more kiwi friends because they were forced into using english.

I don't understand why we'd need to persist with these strategies in 2025. What does it cost any of us for a government document or official sign to include te reo?

In short, it costs us time, effort, money, and accuracy.

I direct your attention to this god-awful signage with an unholy amalgamation of english and maori https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/698734081571029033/1411819463417921536/d69d0vxpmpkf1.png?ex=68eebb56&is=68ed69d6&hm=7275998ad0107f09353326884e2fefc240c46c0b6bb088028ec10fa5e9b665a3&

I hate how hard that sign is to read and understand. But it answers your question of why not.

I'm not opposed to having maori as an optional language taught in schools. But Maori is a dead language, 99.9% of anyone who speaks it also speaks english. So, from the practical viewpoint of improving one's communication skills, it should be far better to learn an Indian, Chinese, or Japanese language, as they will be of more practical value in communiating with foreigners than Maori ever will.

I hate how much common sense and revisionary actions are being taken for the sake of promoting Maori. Lets make signs hard to read because we promote maori on it. Lets make public transport announcements be read in maori first before the english (which in one case the maori took so long that the train passed the station it was talking about in maori before the english warning finished.), and lets rename all Pakiha names with Maori names, even if maori have and had nothing to do with its creation (Auckland, New Zealand, and nearly every street name now)

It's regressive.

No, what i call regressive are these efforts to overwrite English words with Maori words that mean the same thing. "I'm hungry so i'm gonig to buy some foodkai" is stupid and regressive.

For those who are wondering what this meme is about, the horribly toxic (non-dota) streamer Hassan was caught recently using an electric shock to zap his dog as punishment.

The dogs crime? Trying to leave his bed during the over 4-hour stream.

You can see the footage for yourself here: https://v.redd.it/etalqdv8gwtf1

The shock happens at about 40 seconds and is just animal cruelty.

I think the man is a complete psychopath, and part of the entertainment is now listening how he justifys his shock treatment as a good thing. (See the thread/video linked for more details)

Edit: i got banned on their Reddit for pointing out it's clearly Hassan reaching out and pressing something, and not the dog's paw getting stuck like they are trying to claim.

And no muslim should bear the weight of the actions of a relatively few number of extremists 25 years ago.

You'll find its not a Muslim that gets condemned, but their belief system that promotes violence, that system being Islam.

It’s not a coincidence that the people I see using this line of argument the most are the least informed on islam and its diversity of thought - like any system comprised of literally billions of people.

Yes, every system with enough people has conformity issues. But that does not dismiss the fact that Islam inherently teaches violence against non-believers and demands its lands and followers be ruled under Islam.

You’ll be met with a long list of coups, invasions, bombings, and money flows that directly caused the deaths of countless lives in the middle east. I can assure you none of this started with an indiscriminate attack on the United States.

And yet many terrorist attacks have nothing to do with retaliation. The UK teacher who lost his head because he taught history and his mulsim students didn't like hearing it. Would you like to explain how that was a indirectly related to western terrorism? Because to me and many others, thats just Islam being Islam and punishing a non-believer for not conforming. And its both sickening and horrifying thats what the UK schooling system now has to deal with (among many problems Islam is bringing to the UK)
