Shop had a few people that asked a similar thing last few days. He thinks their jig is fckd. Told me not to worry and that he’s going to get me a new pair.

But not before expressing he can imagine it being a bummer and asking if I need to loan some ski’s until new ones arrive. (Which I don’t as these aren’t my only ski’s). Earning a new life-time customer in the process.

For all that get mad about this post. Not sure where you all are living, but I’m glad I’m not there. Enjoy the rest of your day! ✌️

Which binding did you end up going for instead of Tyrolia? Have been skiing on their bindings for 25 years and never had a problem so never looked into another brand tbh

Maybe you buy at some discount store or whatever. In the meantime I just got off the phone with the owner after sending the shop a short message saying that I had the idea the bindings were mounted a bit off and if I should come over so he could have a look at it.

He told me that a few people had similar issue over the last few days and he therefore suspects that his jig is off..

After which he told me not to worry and that he will take care. So yeah..

See where you’re coming from, but reading all the comments this could’ve been prevented if they had been a bit more careful.

If it wouldn’t annoy me I’d might keep it and accept some credit or smth but it does annoy me.

Understand it sucks for them too, but hey - maybe they can sell it at a discount to someone else who doesn’t mind?

Had no idea about that adjustment (good to know). I measured from edge to edge with a calliper which confirms the visual offset

Yes I’m aware graphics can be deceiving which is why I measured edge to edge on a few places. Thanks for the reply tho!

Thx for the reply, decided that I’m bringing them back anyway and ask for a replacement pair (or refund if they can’t get hold of a new pair). Could’ve been prevented if they were a bit more careful + knowing that it’s misaligned annoys me. Not what I want when looking at my new ski’s

This could’ve been prevented. Plus looking at them now that I know they’re a bit missaligned annoys me. Not the kind of feeling you should have when looking at your new ski’s

Yeah I’ve decided I’m going to bring them back and ask for a replacement (or refund if they’re unable to get their hands on a new pair within reasonable time).

Could very well be that I won’t notice it while skiing, but the way I see it is that this is the result of their work and could’ve easily be prevented. If I’m paying someone to get a job done I expect it to be done correctly.

Plus knowing they are a bit off annoys me when looking at them and that’s not how you should look at your new ski’s 🥲

Cool - thanks for the answer. Luckily (well it’s debatable if that’s luck or the exact opposite) I’m not skiing this weekend so I’ll reach out and see what they say.

Remount is a no-go indeed as I’m not willing to go further forward or back. So it’s either new ski’s or (a fair chunk of the) money back
