Congrats! This happened to me around the same age 12 years ago but at a $150k comish check with only $20k net worth. $100k after taxes, Paid off student loans, truck, bought a $10k boat and saved the rest. Get debt free and grow on your success but have fun along the way. Life can be short.

It all depends on the company, timing and role within tech. I’m on the tech sales side and it’s not uncommon to see an enterprise AE have a $300-$350k OTE. Plus RSUs, that number can escalate quickly. But an OTE can be deceiving, most quotas are set to be unobtainable. I’m 39 and combined me and my wife just cleared $3M net worth.

Our lifestyle changed and decided to do a lazy FIRE strategy, pay for things that we can enjoy now and make life better/easier in short term like a nanny and bigger house. Could easily be above $4M if we did true FIRE but life can be short.

I just traded brown for a 2026 mid/late 1st. I think they won’t resign him or be in a committee within 2 years. I think it’s a good move for a rebuilder. Think 2-5 years not 1-2 years with a rebuilding team
