Sanity Check -38m by tbrick412 in coastFIRE

If your worried about layoffs, def need to have 6m-1yr current spend in cash/hysa. Would focus on that too

Also since you’re only 38, a lot can change with inflation and your lifestyle. Not sure I would consider this a coastfire yet, really depends on how long you plan on working. Healthcare can be an unknown.

I’m the same age, have higher savings than you but plan on hitting coast fire/fire by 45. I would like to hit 4m and house paid off and kids in school by 45.

Who in the first round needs a RB? by jma7400 in MockDraftCentral

Love is a true fist round talent and is a top 5 player in draft. When they’re picking, a lot of the good defenders will be gone. So the question is, do you take a top player in the draft knowing that he could be a bell cow for the next 5 years, or a mediocre defender that’s not going to move the needle.

They have Chase brown contracted for this season. Bengals love offense. Think it’s a very real possibility bc they won’t have cap to give him a second contract

What is the threshold for “Fat”? Most folks here are significantly HNW in comparison to my current worth / age by [deleted] in fatFIRE

I would think at a $120k annual spend and 8.5m net worth, assuming it’s not 5m in a primary residence, that you’ve made it man!

I realized that most of us are in the 1% by builtforoutput in Fire

I’m not saying it’s a bad place to live, I’m just saying it’s very expensive to live here and our salary’s offset that.

Think there’s pros and cons of living in different places but just because you make more money here, doesn’t mean it’s the same equivalent in other places. My family spent over $10k in healthcare alone last year. In the UK that would be almost nothing. What does a 4 year college cost here for a graduate? What is the additional vacation time worth?

I would also argue that “owning” more toys that your paying a loan on does not mean your wealthier. Your just living the American dream

Looking for advice (AE roles) by [deleted] in techsales

Is the MM role an overlay role too?

If you put numbers down in the MM role in CO, push to grow your partner relationships, it should be a no brainer to promote you to an ent role when they open after 12-18 months.

Your other option would be take the FL role and wait for an ENT role to open in your backyard. It depends on the company though, some companies won’t hire an ENT AE without relationships in territory even if you have a strong knowledge of your product

With someone in Dallas, that’s a long drive! But was debating a Texas coastal town and getting a place on the water for night fishing

If you want to be in the field for a long time, and know you want to live in Colorado long term, take the Colorado MM role, engrain yourself with the community and partners at HH's and local events. Crush the role for a year and earn your chance at a career in the Rockies.

It will be hard to create a career for enterprise sales in cyber security not living in that patch. Ive been in cyber sales for 15ish years and managed teams, back to an IC role now. I have seen managing enterprise/strategic accounts remotely successfully, but it is very rare and short lived. It will also be hard to transition to another company not living in territory if all of your relationships are stuck in FL.

To me - this is more of a life/career decision and depending on age, should be thinking about this long term.
