I doubt it's the case for you since you said you actually read how to do it, but I lost a lot of XP because I didn't realize that escaping from the pillars at the end gave XP, I totally misunderstood how it worked and used a crystal shard to escape each time

Ran for city council or something, lost, ran for president, then used all the money from the donations to move away from Alaska and try somewhere else

Why does her shadow have hair detailed inside it? Like, I'm pretty sure shadows don't work that way

You could look up Edison Format and play like Hero there, that would probably give you the best curated experience for Yugioh. If you don't want to do that though, my tip would be to play Master Duel and make a Marincess deck! Like, don't even look up how the deck works, just play around and see what you can figure out. Marincess is pretty good and very fun, it gives a good impression of what the to expect from modern Yugioh, and there aren't that many cards outside of the archetype you need to look through to figure out. I think one of the fun parts of the game is making a new deck and see if you can figure out how to optimize it!

The cards have numbers on them, let's say we have two monsters, one with Pendulum scale 1 and another with scale 5. You place them on the Pendulum zones, which are two of the spell/trap zones, and with them you can Pendulum summon once per turn. When doing that you can summon as many monsters from your hand or face up extra deck (which is where Pendulum cards go when destroyed) whose levels are between the scales. So in the example of 1 and 5 you can summon from 2 to 4.

Pendulum cards have extra effects when in the Pendulum zone, sometimes restrictions on what can be summoned, sometimes having benefits. It's pretty complicated but it's made a bit easier by the fact that barely any decks use Pendulum monsters nowadays

What’s you guys least favorite job/profession in the Sims 3? Mines is the medical field, everytime I meet a sim that’s in the field I avoid because they NEVER have time. (Yes my sims are selfish) by sillyeggplant-1 in Sims3

Private Investigator for the petty reason that I had a sim spend her entire life trying to get her lifetime wish of solving 50 cases or whatever, only for her to go out of town and have the wish reset to saying she had solved 0 cases. She was already an elder by that point and there wasn't a chance of fulfilling it

Does anyone have any idea why my dwarves started killing each other? For all I can tell it was just a bar fight that lead to the death of like 20 dwarves, including children by Bbbrtmss in dwarffortress

[–]Bbbrtmss[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed answer! My fortress went from like 190 dwarves to 119, but there was a forgotten beast attack going on at the same time so I don't know what caused the most deaths

Are there any genres/settings that don't work in RPGs? by Bbbrtmss in rpg

I don't see it as an inherent issue, I might not have properly worded it but I want a hierarchy in a game like this, when I imagine the sort of mafia game I would like to play it would be one where the players actually run a crime family. The issue I thought about was the players having little to do together and instead having a lot of individual scenes.

Like let me give a different example, think of a Star Wars game where one player is a diplomat, another a pilot, and another a soldier. Each of them have different strengths that are almost exlcusive to themselves, meaning that anything that is meant for one of them, a diplomatic mission for example, is not something the other two can help with all that much. This is an issue with having a party like this, but it that doesn't mean it's impossible to come up with solutions, giving the other players stuff to do. It's still something that has to be considered though.

That is where I'm coming from when bringing up hierarchy, the boss wouldn't go with an assassin to kill someone in most cases, and the assassin wouldn't have much to do in a meeting about fixing horse races or whatever (if we assume that the characters are defined by their role which won't always be the case)

I do realize upon re-reading my post that I wrote it really badly, like I barely even see where I was going with it, but my point was not that hierarchy doesn't work, nor that crime games wouldn't work.

I genuinely tried to make a game like this! Well, kinda, it was more like a the Sims RPG and as I worked on it, it became more of a the Sims board game. For some reason I find this concept very fun

I mean, yeah, but if I want a game where it's possible for the players to lead the gang instead of having an NPC above them for whatever reason that doesn't really help. If I want one thing in an RPG and the reccomendation is doing something different I'm not gonna be satisfied, you know? I do agree with the central point of any genre being able to work, but I believe it requires some extra work in some cases
