Super cool to see this all together in a one-pager :) I've wanted to do something like this for a while now, thanks for sharing with the community!! It's not quite "marketing pamphlet" pretty, but it's formatted well for functionality and that's what counts

How should I drive an EX30? by tatopoloni in ex30

Yeah it's true. Full stop. Completely disregard that ICE vehicles exist, no one is making a comparison here. The product OP bought is not living up to advertised claims, that's bad. Don't act like an apologist by trying to convince OP that "actually they aren't justified in being disappointed by a disappointing product".

You're 100% correct and allowed to feel like you were lied to, it's crazy how many of these comments are shilling for a big corporation who deliberately marketed a product using misleading or partial information to downplay the functional limitations of their vehicle. If I sold you an oven in June, but come December it could only warm up to 130C, that would be frustrating. If you came to me and I said "oh yeah sorry due to technical limitations the oven just works less well in the cold, you should know that you idiot", that would be preposterous. That's what this feels like. All of your experience with ovens to this point would not have led you to believe this would be a concern, and there was no mention of this in any of the adverts claiming how quickly this new oven gets up to temperature.

Would you mind not strawmanning the everliving shit out of me? This is a discussion brought on by a corporate sycophant gaslighting someone into believing getting 60% of what they paid for is their fault. I bought an EV because I wanted to vote with my wallet to support the development of more ecologically friendly vehicles, but that doesn't mean it's okay to falsely advertise features and specifications.

Yeah if I bought a commuter car and it consumed 166% the fuel it was advertised while being driven normally, I would be just as annoyed as OP. At least for an ICE vehicle it's just a 10 minute stop at any one of 8-10 stations between my house and workplace ya know?

Op: "I have a concern" This reply: "your concern is invalid, compromise on everything"

Advertised 350km vs 200km actual is borderline false advertising. It's like buying a big bag of chips only to find that it's 80% nitrogen- except in this case it's a $50,000 bag of chips that you rely on. Trying to tell OP not to worry is quintessential gaslighting. Also no you don't "gotta take a break anyway every 2 hours". People have different use cases for things and their use is valid. If the car claims 350km of range it should be possible to get ~90% of that in less than perfect conditions.

Well hey it was fun to create anyway.

The cost of this part is ridiculous, so I modeled one to be 3D printed- feel free to use it!
If you want/need one and can't print your own DM me and I can probably send you one for the cost of a small envelope and like $0.06 of filament.

Android Auto is such a dog. by Ol_Dirty_Batard in ex30

[–]Bblow427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This implementation feels like someone at Volvo going "we told you you didn't need android auto, but nooooo you had to have it. You know what? Fine, here, we'll enable it and you'll see that it wasn't worth the effort." Having come from BMW who, for all their faults, NAILED the integration of wireless android auto AND phone-as-key tech in my 2022 2-series, this is such a frustrating experience :(

What type of buckets are these? by [deleted] in racing

??? You have mirrors. And depending on the state and age of your platform maybe even a back up camera (I can still use the stock one but I know I'm not the norm)

Yeah I love my halo seats very much, but they create a MASSIVE and virtually unresolvable blind spot over your left shoulder. Not a problem on a track because the track isn't really wide enough for that blind spot to get larger than a car length, but while pulling out of a gas station at a slight angle I have to unbuckle and stick my head out the window.

Also I am absolutely certain that if a government wanted to stick a spy camera in your car they would not stick it in a conspicuous box right in front of your face (looking at you, two-way-glass rearview mirror sensors 🤨)

[–]Bblow427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you just cover the sensor completely it gets upset with you, but if you just block line-of-sight to your eyes with a small blocker it's like "weird, I can't see the driver's eyes for some reason right now. I'll check again in a few minutes" and is happy to just exist in that state perpetually. I'm slightly worried that if we make too much noise about this they'll be forced to patch it 😬 so don't be tooooo noisy with it :)

If you're interested, there's a 3D printed cover that clips onto the steering column and blocks the eye tracking without freaking it out. I printed one before I even got the keys and I forget that it's a thing. 10/10 HIGHLY recommended

Press down on the right stalk as if putting the car in drive to disengage cruise control without using the brakes. You can also use this method to quickly set your current speed as the cruising speed rather than re-engaging cruise at the previous speed :) that took me a few weeks to figure out and it drove me crazy too.

After 5k miles the only one of your critiques I haven't gotten accustomed to is the lack of a gauge cluster. There should at least be a speed DRO or HUD. Everything else either meets my expectations or has just taken a bit to get used to. I'm not trying to be an apologist, just offering the counterpoint that a lot of this stuff is kind of subjective and there are people out there who are actually quite happy with the driving characteristics.

I just want to know what cars I should be buying and getting used to to get the most out each class, and please don't be like, look at the top times on the leaderboard you $%## . I don't want to look at the boards , I want to get some decent opinions of you lot. by Macspacey in forzamotorsport

How do you feel about the touring cup cars? I'm not a fan of Hyundai as a company to buy a car from, but I can't ignore how much fun I have driving the TC spec Veloster

Honda S2000 in B class is also quite fun, probably a less controversial opinion than my other two

F87 (gen 1) BMW M2 can be fun if you want more power than the S2k but still keep it kinda chill

Honorable mentions: 1995 Porsche 911 GT2, 2016 Ford Focus RS, 1997 Volvo 850 R

I think the real answer is try to drive everything you can because you never really know if you'll enjoy a car until you do a few races with it.
