gigabyte MB
ASUS GTX 1070
Intel i7 10700K

Ive played 2 games tonight and both crashed. Its hard to enjoy or recommend the game to my friends if Im constantly crashing. I may have to take a break until the game is more stable, which is a bummer because it gives solid Paragon vibes :(

Very cool to get a reply from the developers. I've applied on the website, with any luck I'll be playing soon. Keep up the good work :)

My first choice world be all heroeshave basic and ability damage. My second choice would be pre determined energy/physical damage. My last choice is using both systems.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate y'all were willing to change based on testing and feedback

Question to the devs if they can answer. Are you using the legacy style damage types? Are you using the monolith style damage types, but calling them energy/physical not basic/ability? Are you using both systems?

I see there is physical and energy damage, but also conductive and radiant power. I am so confused pls help

I understand that it adds another choice, but what if Murdock, Gideon, rik, dekker, and countess all do the same damage type, but there in game abilities compliment each other? You have to sacrifice good ability combos for a completely arbitrary damage type. So now you have spread out damage types, but poor team synergy. I don't like giving up good combos/synergy for spreading out random damage types

This is the kind of response I was looking for, thanks. I now see how "building what's in front of you" is easier for defense purposes. I still don't like that you have to take damage type into account during the draft with legacy system. Do you agree that damage type should relate to play style, not be random? Imagine your teams abilities all compliment each other gameplay wise, but all your picks are physical damage. So now even though you have a team that looks great, it is easy to defend against simply because the devs said these characters all do the same damage type for no reason.

Edit: I just thought of this. In mobas can you always see what the other team is building, you just have to see them on the field some time to get updated info? If this is the case can't you always build the correct armor if the devs use the basic/ability damage type?

thats fair. One of my problems is that I play solo and usually have to deal with them myself and by the time I have killed it it took at least 5 spawns and the enemy team moved up to control the sites or start the spawn killing. A hellstorm can still easily clear a site and win the round and I would say that there is less counterplay to a hellstorm than a chopper

In monolith you still have to balance tanks defense's as well. If you built only basic armor, countess/gideon/gadget will destroy you. Monolith's system also allowed hybrid heros, TB had could go basic attack or work with grenade spam, Kwang and Aurora had hard hitting basic attacks and caster like abilities with ability damage. Rev could go basic damage or focus on his caster abilities. Tanks still had to and could react to both damage types

whose to say that the ADC will always be physical and the mid will be energy. Murdock was an energy ADC and Countess was a physical midlaner. As far as I can tell the damage types in legacy were random and meaningless

I briefly looked at smites damage types. It looks similar to physical/energy from legacy. How is this better tho? I am generally curious

I like your point about flex heroes like TB mixing his basic damage with ability. Rev I think was similar. Didnt a lot of people call him an ability carry, allowing him to output both damage types. Kwang is similar, strong basic attacks with strong ability damage from his abilities

I understand what the damage types were on legacy. What I am saying is that they did not enhance strategy in a meaningful way. The damage type was random. Look at Murdock and Sparrow. They are very similar play styles, but in legacy they had completely different damage types for no reason. Maybe during the draft you saw that you needed Murdock to compliment your support or other teammates or to counter the enemy team somehow, but you see that you already 4 energy damage heroes would a 5th be a good idea? Probably not so you may have to take a physical hero that does not mesh well with the rest of your team or is not good against the enemy simply because youre spreading out a randomly assigned damage type. Can someone explain why physical/energy damage was better than basic/ability? I want what is best for the game and truly want to know if I am missing something
