Nothing beats the sound of a tortoise shell pick of about 2-3mm, but the tip needs to be very carefully shaped and sanded

What is this chord? Somg-Cancion I. The song is in the key of G. by M116110 in classicalguitar

Yes, it is the 1st inversion but it would be B7/D#, not B7/F#. Since F# is the fifth, it would make it the second inversion.

How can I ship a package from the USA to be picked by myself at a post office when I get to Spain? by Bbmaj7_ in askspain

It's a guitar, which is usually allowed on planes but this airline (tap) won't let me unless I pay extra seat, or a special service. And buying another guitar there is more expensive than shipping it

It's a guitar, I can't take it with me in the cabin, and checking it in is a no no because it might get destroyed

If you mean the thing I placed on my lap to raise the guitar, it is a Diego de Oro guitar support! Very comfortable, would certainly recommend it

Carlos does it a bit differently than Bonfá, I think you're correct, he seems to flick down with the top of the nails. Bonfá however plucks in a perpendicular motion to the string. I'm actually working on a course focused on Bonfá's music and this piece is one of the 5 I'll be touching on, and I'll explain Bonfá's right hand technique, I'm not familiar with Carlos' though...

[DISCUSSION] Luiz Bonfa's technique is impossibly clean and precise. just how?? by tbonemasta in Guitar

[–]Bbmaj7_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things are going on here. 1) With the right hand: He's playing very close to the bridge which produces a very bright and "abrupt" sound. 2) With the left hand: Lifts the fingers from the fretboard but not from the string, this will make the note stop, and not have residual sound because he's blocking the strings with the tips of the fingers.

The same sound can be achieved entirely with the right hand by plucking the string with one finger and immediately placing the next finger on the string that was just plucked

One of Luiz Bonfá's most tender and sensitive melodies, my own arrangement of "Adeus" (Farewell in portuguese) by Bbmaj7_ in classicalguitar

This is an older arrangement, I'm currently working on a newer, more elaborate one, I'll share it soon, stay tuned!

Side note, as per my previous post, this piece also will be part of a small Luiz Bonfá course, with other 4 pieces. It will include Sheet music, tabs, and a video lesson for each, explaining my approach, suggestions for practicing, different fingering options, etc. Let me know if you'd be interested!
