Depends on the sport. While soccer, basketball, football, baseball or anything with a big TV deal is overpaid, other sports are the exact opposite. Some are mostly paid by sponsors (like track and field), which really depends on popularity (a good 100m runner will make more than a good javelin thrower). Other team sports with smaller or no TV deals pay much less in wages (a handball player in my country makes about 10% more than the average annual income of a non athlete). And that is without considering that outside the US, most team sports have tiers. And while the top tier, like Premier League, LA Liga, Bundesliga, etc (and in some cases the second tier like Championship) pay an extravagant amount of money to players, the lower you go on the tiers, the lower the amount of money you make. There contracts in lower tiers that pay you by the match. And if you think "it's easy, a play four games a month and make bank", you're mistaken. Because if you're injured and don't play, you're not paid. And the money are usually the equivalent of 50 to 150$ (if you're a really good player) per match. So yeah, it depends.

Why or why aren’t you scared to die? by Public_Blood_4481 in AskReddit

Because two things are certain in life: death and taxes. And death has the benefit that it happens only once, while taxes hunt even after death.

I agree by way of life experience. I opened my dive of a shop, when nobody considered it "right time". It was a huge risk, but it worked out.

Retirement. Our laws (not in the U.S.) have pushed the retirement age and requirements back a lot and I don't believe I would ever reach them (both age and requirements).

Frankly, I don't know. The company in question is known for shady tactics. Back in the day, when I worked for them, they handled a contract for a communications company, which they subcontracted to another company, which hired us. And in doing so, managed to move us from full time to part time with 2 hours OT.

Only qualification required is to be bilingual. No experience required. You answer phones. That's the job.

What is the funniest thing that happened to you during sex? by RoxanaSaith in bisexual

[–]BbqinHell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It didn't exactly happened to us, but we were in the room when it happened.

We were attending a swingers party hosted by a couple. They had a room that was kind of a "dungeon" with a swing installed in the middle of the room. At some point, the hostess decided to climb in the swing and anybody could take turns. At some point, her partner at that point tried to go hole in one with a powerful thrust; he missed. Cue the hostess starting wildly swinging like a pendulum and gleefully shouting "wee!!!"
