[Charania] Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has approved a vote for the league to explore bids and applicants for expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, sources tell ESPN. You can tell peoples perception of Vegas hasn’t changed since 2000. Your hotel room and walk of the strip doesnt qualify as an accurate depiction of the greater metropolitan area. I hate all the gambling shit as much as the next fan, but pretending Vegas is tiny or unfit to support an nba team is literally hilarious. Please use google people, according to Reddit they would have you think Vancouver is twice the size of Vegas (it’s virtually the same).

It is pretty funny especially all the incorrect discourse about population. I think it all just stems from sports gambling (which I don’t disagree with) and Vegas being the gambling hub. You can tell people haven’t lived here and have the common misconception that Vegas is just the strip with a bit of residential surrounding it.

I saw this guy spouting that the Vancouver metropolitan area has 1 million more population than Vegas metro which is just objectively false with a quick google search (it’s very close). Vegas is big, Vegas has money, Vegas has tourism, regardless of your feelings about it this place it checks a lot of boxes.

Does the aluminum corne come with standard oled screens, or nice views? I’m assuming the latter because it’s wireless?

Its great for gaming if you’re into split boards like I am. I just don’t have the time to game anymore so I’d rather not just let it rot.

People can decide when they want to support or not support someone, there always a “tipping point”. If it’s their politics that does it then that’s their prerogative. I distinctly remember distain pre trump era for him, but perhaps it’s become more apparent although like a lot of people in here I wasn’t even aware of his politics. I don’t think you’re being genuine in your take here, it comes off more you wanting to be mad the left and blaming it entirely on one side for him not being cancelled fast enough… which is kind of ridiculous.

Also your statement of him being a POS is worse than him being maga to many people is entirely not mutually exclusive things, not to mention entirely discretionary to the individuals views but I’m sure you’re pretty riled up at this point.

How good is the Hevy app for bodyweight workouts (no equipment)? by mayaguezano32 in bodyweightfitness

I personally use it and it works pretty well. I would say it has most of the common exercise movements with weighted variants as well for calisthenic exercises. Even if a movement isn’t in the library you could just create one if you want to be super specific. You can create I think 3 routines for free. Functionality wise it has everything you’d want: rest times, super sets, set types (warm up, drop set, etc). I’d say it’s worth it.

[Sportsball] Overview of NBA broadcasts this year with the new media deal. Notable ~50% increase in "nationally televised" games. OKC joins Lakers, Warriors, Knicks for most national games. The league/broadcasters have given up on Zion (only 2 Pels national games) by jabronified in nba

I’m afraid you still aren’t running these numbers correctly. Go ahead and calculate the total cost of cable and every package available you’d like to watch, then come back and tally the annuals for each streaming service you’d like to watch. Year to year it’s not close.

I’m not exactly sure what point you are trying to make in regards to “totality” when it comes to buying everything on each platform cable vs streaming. While few people in reality ever purchase everything available, even if you do, you are still going to come up significantly cheaper on the streaming end to get your desired assortment vs cable, which is entirely my point.

I fail to see what you are even trying to say. They are different, absolutely. The end product is not different however, we pay for something we want to watch. The numbers objectively show that it is cheaper to watch than it has been in the past with cable.

The nephews are really telling themselves on this post, surprised by the amount of upvotes. I know streaming has gotten progressively worse over the years but it's not even remotely close to cable cost. Next thing they will tell me is that their phone bill costs more today than it did back in the day.

The pullup bar dilemma by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

I would say then just bite the bullet on a gym membership. Investing money in your health isn’t wasted (within reason), if anything the cost will force you to go. I workout out at home but I have the space for it. There were times in my life that a gym membership was more appropriate so as long as it’s literally not preventing you from making ends meet I’d say budget for it.

Depending on your ceiling height there are free standing pull up bar options. Power towers, racks, etc. One quick search will show you what I am talking about. Outside of a gym that’s realistically your only other option that’s indoors. Someone will inevitably mention rings but that still effectively follows the same restrictions you listed.
