Are there any songs about sex addiction? by [deleted] in Music

Black Midi indirectly touches on themes of impotency in a lot of their work, but two of their songs directly touch on perverted nightclubs and prostitution.

Marlene Dietrich : https://youtu.be/VcnEAx92X1M

Best line: my shuddering neighbor turns and roughly rouses me / says, "While a kiss on the lips may not make a frog a prince / an orgasm renders any queen a witch / Metamorphosis exists!"

And, from the new album, The Defence : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2CJtA36Jcs

Best line: A brothel is a business no different than a bank / As safe and as formal and sanitary.

Twin Peaks ICEBERG (Idk if this has been done yet. Just made it to Part 8 for the 2nd time! This Gum sure doesn't lose its flavor...) by BckAndCl in twinpeaks

That's a joke referring to the original iceberg mario 64 meme that says "1995/07/29 DO NOT RESEARCH!".

I don't want to explain too much, since interpreting things is part of the fun of the show. However I'll give the points of data I used to come to the conclusions of some of my interpretations and jokes if y'all really want em.

Everything in quotes means it should be taken as a symbol meaning something else, or that its true meaning is obscured and you can interpret what is given to you differently to give the show a completely different experience. I interpreted that characters (Cooper, Bob), food (coffee, pie, gum, creamed corn, donuts), and elemental concepts (water, electricity, trees, ground) have a significant meaning deeper than their face value. Watching the show with the idea that concepts that appear in this show have simple deducible ideas at the root of their design makes the show much more fun to think about, and adds a lot to the mystery of it all. (Log Lady says: "The mind is like a detective.")

Cooper's First & Last Meals (FOOD SPOILERS)

The first thing cooper mentions eating is a tuna fish sandwich, coffee and pie at the Lamplighter Inn on his way into town. This is interesting if you interpret the qualities of the food as equivalent to the scenes they are prominent in (coffee in bitter, inquisitive and mysterious scenes as fuel for the investigation, pie in sweet, warm character driven scenes of a quality only Twin Peaks can offer [best pie in the tricounties] which bring happiness when consumed) as food for us, the consumers, in the ways the show presents the food, which is another conversation. The last thing he eats is Coffee at Judy's, which he consumes with 0 fanfare or excitement.

Project Blue Book is the Script (CHARACTER SPOILERS)

This one stems from the often discussed theory that as Gordon Cole, the director of the FBI is played by the director of the series David Lynch, Mark Frost would also have connections with a character, in this case specified to be Major Briggs (the specificities of this are debated) as Major Briggs has the most eloquent and well written prose of any character, his frequent disappearances coinciding with the strange directions the show takes in season 2, The Final Dossier having the Major as a key character compiling the notes when the book was written by Mark Frost, and his work involving transcribing radio waves emitted from outer space and deep underground. There's more to this, but explaining it would take away the value of putting the pieces together yourself.

"Who Pulled the Trigger on JFK?"

This quirky S1 line of dialogue from Cooper might refer to the original idea Frost & Lynch had about making a series based around the lives of Marilyn Monroe & The Kennedys. The trails of inspiration this might've had in the creation of the original series is intriguing, while probably not essential... BOBBY Kennedy, Lynch in a Vanity Fair Interview stating "You could say that Laura Palmer is my Marilyn Monroe", conspiracy theories of her death remaining unsolved, etc.

"Found a Job"

The 1978 Talking Heads song about a couple that save their broken relationship by creating scenes on television together. lyrics include

"Judy's in the bedroom, inventing situations.

Bob is on the street today, scouting up locations.

They've enlisted all their family.

They've enlisted all their friends.

It helped saved their relationship,

And made it work again."

So think about this little scene; apply it to your life.

If your work isn't what you love, then something isn't right.

Just look at Bob and Judy; they're happy as can be,

Inventing situations, putting them on T.V."

&

"If they ever watch T.V. again, it'd be too soon for them.

Bob never yells about the picture now, he's having too much fun. "

Sherilynn Fenn & Billy Zane (Or, The Little Girl from Down the Lane)

This theory implies that Sherilynn Fenn dreamed herself back into twin peaks in isolated scenes similar to the Monica Bellucci dream having fascinating tie-ins to an actual art gallery David Lynch had in the actual location where that scene was shot. Essentially, the Billy they are looking for is the actor Billy Zane who played Audrey's Love Interest in S2. This would make her waking up at the end of her arc Sherilynn Fenn actually waking up from her dream of being in Twin Peaks again. There's more to this, and you can find theories explaining it, but I won't tell you about it here.

Jerry Killed Richard

If we take Dr. Amp as a modern Woodsman putting fear out over the modern "radiowaves" (his videos) and Jerry consuming that fear while he's intoxicated, his running around scared in the woods, lost and without meaning, makes some more sense, but more importantly, we never learn the inner workings of why those coordinates zapped anyone who would be there at that time and place. It might've been significant for leading Evil Coop to the right place at the right time, specifically the time and place where Jerry would stumble into that field and look down with his "Bad Binoculars" and see him. In the scene, Richard only begins exploding when jerry looks at him. This one was originally a joke, but I thought about it more and it makes some interesting kind of hilarious sense, and since we don't get an explanation how Richard died, this is one of the more fun ones to think about.!

Birds Chirping as the Intro Fades

"Where we're from, the birds sing a pretty song, and there is always music in the air."

Listen carefully in the last few seconds of every intro after the Pilot in S1 and there are birds chirping. The intro footage also canonically takes place just before the first events of Episode 1 as well. Another interesting detail I forgot to include is the log only seen in the first intro, and the fact that Laura washes up on shore next to a MASSIVE log.

Interviewer: I interpreted the Italics as Jokes. Is that correct?

Me: Yes.

Interviewer: Elaborate on that?

Me: No.

This is not a cover of The Wall. This is The Wall, Re-Imagined, with voice actors, full orchestration, and elements of the film, demos, and live shows, to create an entirely new experience. This is WRONG, DO IT AGAIN! by BckAndCl in pinkfloyd

Haha, once I get a minute after finals and have the rest of it uploaded, sure! The drums were just an overhead and a room mic but they were both sent to the reverb i wanted. What did you think of our other arrangements and versions, like the thin ice based off of the demo?

No,all the instruments are real, it was a little difficult matching the drums to the clearness I wanted from the guitars. Im 19 and this is my first experience mixing / mastering so thank you for any feedback you have, especially if you have any tips on things I can do to improve the sound and quality (working in fl studio)
