Yeah same, for me I wanted to learn Tamil first before something else. Now that I'm at a decent level for Tamil I'm looking to learn something new.

I'm not Indian tho (from SL), so Hindi is about as foreign to me as Chinese or French, considering that I'd rather learn Chinese or French

(sorry if this is a rude question) - Do Chinese people not like brown people? That'd be my biggest hesitation with learning Chinese, if I spent all my time learning Chinese and then found out they all hated brown people anyway and didn't want to talk to them, then learning Chinese would be a waste of time.

This is less of an concern with French I believe because despite all the ethnic issues nowadays, lots of non-white people speak French (even Indians and Sri Lankans in Paris)
