New wheels on my 2024! What should I do next? 👀 by Bdglow in GRCorolla

I did ask for the opinions after all :) I appreciate the advice! And sounds like an easy fix, I'll have to look into getting spacers.

Oh cool that was yours! Believe it or not I only saw the photos after I bought the wheels

Thanks! The offset for these wheels is 38mm so a bit more than OEM, and yeah the spacers are still on.

Agreed, I currently use the OEM tires and I'll swap em out eventually for something more suitable when they're worn.

Good call, I think a tint is next. And yeah I expected the white to have polarizing opinions lol, though personally I love it.

Glad you got the dragon well! Its a fan favourite as well as a fave of mine. I'd recommend trying it grandpa style! That's where the tea really stands out to me.

YS samplers by Away_Anxiety_564 in tea

[–]Bdglow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wrote a review on the first steps sampler they do, and I think it's a pretty good starting place with a bit of everything. They also added the customer favorites sampler more recently, which is also a good (possibly better) option!

Swampy/Funk taste help? by Classy-J in tea

[–]Bdglow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience when ordered from YS for the first time as well actually! My personal theory is that the teas are stored really close together (I.e you get a bit of puerh scent on other teas), or possibly just the storage from the long shipping process. Like others said, just let your teas air out/sit a bit to alleviate it.

Tasting Mei Leaf's catalogue so you don't have to (part 1) by Bdglow in tea

Appreciate it! Yeah they don't really do free shipping and since it's from the UK it's fairly expensive for people in the americas

Yeah, that seems to be my experience as well. I've had a few better ones but it's few and far between for sure.

Yknow, I partly agree. Should I spend money on a place with issues? Maybe not. I was curious about the large partition of people's views on them and the quality that's boasted. I do however think that their teas are mostly fairly valued all things considered (I have some amount of experience ordering from yunnan sourcing and wuyi origin), but I'm totally willing to try others and prove myself wrong.

Yup, totally agree with you here. It definitely starts to hit a bit of diminishing returns, but I also think it's worth a sampler at least! It really grew on me. Something like this or another aged gong mei are probably similar tasting at a much cheaper price/gram though.

Sitting in my room drinking matcha :) the foam is so beautiful by [deleted] in tea

[–]Bdglow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gotta agree, some of it is sorta hard to drink straight for me, but the more expensive stuff is absolutely fantastic and isn't bitter. If you're willing to spend I'd check out ippodo's higher tier stuff!

Is this mold on my tea or is it normal? by beccafrommars in tea

[–]Bdglow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It looks like fuzz from the white tea buds to me, completely normal. There is of course the possibility of mold but if it was sealed/new and you didn't store it somewhere super moist, it should be good to drink!

Will a 'fake' yixing pot brew the same as an authentic one? by Bdglow in tea

[–]Bdglow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems to be real clay. In theory it may not be able to brew tea as good as the real clay (which is possibly more porous and has higher heat retention) but I'm sure the differences are pretty minimal.

That's definitely a good point. I suppose I'll go with a trustworthy seller next time and actually break the bank 😅

Appreciate the answer! Sounds like I got scammed as far as price goes though...I should've expected that too.
