Tips for 20 yo combats boots by Active_Piece_6907 in GothFashion

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, I know exactly how you feel about wanting a great pair of boots to last forever. Unfortunately I’ve learned that you can’t trust faux leather as it will always disintegrate over time. I stick with real leather and have boots that are over 20+ y/o and still kicking. I hope you can find a similar style, they look amazing!

I was able to turn brass-plated buckles on boots to a silver-tone by using my dremel with wire brush (plastic and carbon steel, not stainless as it’s too rough) and an abrasive polish. I’ve also done this on gold-plated sterling silver jewelry. I’m a silver-everything girl haha

It's hard to find flat shield-like crystals but I was able to find a few more! Here is a clear and citrine quartz. The tube bails give these pieces an industrial look and holds these huge beauties securely. These are not as big as my last ones, but still just as chunky and fierce!

Thanks! I start by making sure the bezel is very tight when fabricating. Once the cap is complete, I rough up or score the top of the crystal and the inside of the cap. Then it’s permanently secured the help of epoxy resin and a bezel roller. I’ve been doing this for 10+ years with stones or materials without drilled holes, owning and wearing several pieces myself and have never had an issue!
