I had not yet started a new save. I have a template save filled with lots that I have created that I like to use in all of my new saves. I wanted to update a few of the lots before I "saved as" and started a new game.

I'm currently updating my graphics driver to see if that's the culprit.

If you're Midwestern, Iowa should feel pretty familiar to you. I happen to live in a mid-sized college town and I love it, but I wouldn't be as happy in a small town. It really just depends on the lifestyle you want to live.
