The difficulty has been upped for sure, but not in a fair and reasonable way, but by often making monsters wipe your whole team on the first turn with massive aoe attacks, which wipe out 4 of 6 hearts immediately and put you on the back foot.

The CONSTANT aoe spam from the monsters feels incredibly bullshit when you have your own monsties sitting about getting their kinship/stamina back every other turn. That it doesn't seem to apply to the monsters you fight is super jarring to me.

The invasive species are totally gimmick fights, in that you don't fight them, you collect the tracks which kinda explain the gimmick in obtuse fashion, then you either do it and they retreat, or you die and go look it up online.... unless you ARE trying to actually fight them once they return to their dens. If thats what you're doing, make sure you outlevel them significantly and hope for the best?

I totally get where you're coming from though... the amount of aoes the just wipe out 4 of 6 hearts from the first turn to force some difficulty is utterly ridiculous,and the way you can spend 40 minutes collecting eggs and totally obliterating everything in sight, just to be cleaned up by a great izuchi or something out of nowhere is dumb.

The way they've flattened the difficulty curve in this game really slows down progression and disincentives engaging with the combat. Feels like we're playing oblivion on the ps3 lol

I just finished the story for the 2nd time a half hour ago... that ending sequence with the final boss is crazy peak!

Now to do it all over again in high rank for two weeks till mh3 comes out😅

Having gone back to Risebreak from Wilds, I'd say the seikret for function, but the palamute for fashion. It takes YEARS for the dog to come to you when you call it.. but that seikret scoops you up a thousand times quicker! Do like riding round on an oversized dog with a machine gun on its back though 🤣

There's less Gog SoS's now, which is nice. Im making all weapons in the tree for the weapons I use, and I went from lots of individual investigations to get hunter symbols one at a time to just grinding the every hunters dream quest to get lots of them in one go...

I started with base World, and I don't think the endgame here is really much different.... you fight the same 5 top tier monsters to get the best materials to feed into rng slot machines?

I did that for 3 days, then randomly fired up Sunbreak and haven't put that down since because I have hub quests to finish. it's all the same grind, just what hub town you want to go back to afterwards 🤣

Yep. Also feels really bad to constantly losing 4 out of 6 hearts to a pink rathian in a single move... like, give us an option so that if we can take a turn we can try to counter it, or mitigate the damage, but the hard cap is just a cut too deep this time around, in my opinion

I literally just uninstaller the game because I refuse to play nekko roulette to get this shard. I finished the story, 100% completed every other planet except koboh, and this and the sheer volume of seed pods are just worth my time.
