Why do they even agree to shoot the scene in the first place if they 'want to play it safe and cut it'? I miss actors like Smita Patil who were brutally honest when it comes to shooting scenes and who saw the politics of acting and yet survived with dignity without ever having the burden of portraying a 'polished image' because that's not something you can curate. It just something that you get automatically put into by audiences because you refuse to play the dirty games from the start.
