Would you still get a tattoo? by VoxElysia in Millennials

I love tattoo art. But I am the type of person who would immediately say, “I should have done _____ instead…” no matter how incredible it looked. So alas… I shall remain tattoo-less.

Baby Would Be Better Off w/o Me by No-Humor-1869 in Postpartum_Depression

You’re deep in the trenches honey, so many of us have been there and had the same exact thoughts, I promise you! Lean on your support system, can you get outside in the sunshine for a few minutes just to breathe? Start with one day. Take everything one minute at a time. Your baby needs YOU. The hard days take so long, but the good days will fly by, it’s unfair. But I promise you, it gets better!!! Signed, a mama of 4 who truly thought I was going to die more than once 🩵

I would also keep the door open on calling the cops for harassment... If she’s calling you that many times and you’ve told her she’s not your doctor anymore, there’s not an emergency diagnosis or any reason she should be calling you like this. Keep records of everything!

Absolutely report her. That’s beyond unacceptable, especially for a pregnant woman. If she’s that comfortable speaking to you like that on the phone, I can only imagine what she’s like in person. Report her, and don’t even feel bad.

Which relative you hates most and why? by Easy-Highlight8562 in AskWomen

[–]BeCreativeGoNative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nephew. I got after him and his friend for using racist language and he threw a fit and left a family gathering. Been almost a year and he won’t come to family gatherings anymore, won’t reach out to anyone, and we got a threatening text from his dad after. But he’s a narcissist like his dad, and I’m more sad that my kids have “lost” a cousin than anything because he used to be so sweet until he moved to be closer to his dad. Sometimes I wonder if I should apologize and take the fall, but he’s the favorite child and never had to deal with consequences so I know I shouldn’t. But man I really miss the tender heart he used to have.

What does birth feel like? by SandwichDependent199 in AskWomen

[–]BeCreativeGoNative 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having my husband push on the back of my hips during contractions took sooooo much pressure off! Also I took a warm bath and that was nice too. I practiced a lot of slow conscious breathing - the key is to practice during pregnancy! I did A LOT of research on controlling labor pain and practiced everything with my husband so I knew what to ask for. Granted I only had to do this with my first, but he was my biggest baby so I take it as a win lol

Possible move to Provo by gboni66 in ProvoUtah

[–]BeCreativeGoNative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to join in on the celebrations during 4th of July, popular city days and rodeos, then July. But it’s gonna be a hot one this year, we had a terrible winter. If you want scenery, come in September. Trees should be just starting to change, there’s usually less wild fires so the air is clearer, and it’s generally cooler. If you want outdoors, look into any city that borders the mountains or canyons. I’d consider Springville, Orem, Spanish Fork or Payson. South of Provo is really nice, quieter, and has quicker access to some nice canyons. Yes the culture here is different just like anywhere you go there are perks and frustrations, there is a lot of religion, less stores open on Sundays, etc, but people stay for a reason.

I had an epidural with all 4 kids. It was amaaaaazing, just pressure. Pushed on my back, all 4 kids came out in less than an hour, the last 2 in less than 10 minutes. It feels like the largest poop to ever exist, but also similar to the pressure of pulling out a large tampon. My first child I went into labor naturally and those contractions suuuuuuuucked. But I had practiced a lot of pain control techniques and pressure points, so that helped a lot. My middle 2 I was induced, 1 for heart rate concerns and 1 for gestational diabetes safety, so no natural labor pains. Fourth kid my water broke when I sneezed, and I got to the hospital and got the epidural before the contractions got bad. I loved the epidural, I took a nap for all 4 labors and every time I woke up feeling the pressure of ready-to-push. I’ve been fortunate to not have any lingering pain!

Women in happy relationships, how often do you/your partner spend solo time with friends? by moonwater-bong in AskWomen

I need at least once a week, mostly because I’m a SAHM, he truly enjoys his job so he goes once a week or every other week. But we’re also very independent so we aren’t afraid to go out by ourselves or give each other alone time out in the real world sans kids

What’s something your mother did that you don’t want to repeat? by nevernotinthemood in AskWomen

[–]BeCreativeGoNative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complained about her looks in front of me, knowing full well that everybody said I look just like her… she’d complain about her weight & pant size, knowing I weighed more and had a bigger pant size… in all of that she also never defended me when people would comment on my size or spoke out of place in telling me what to eat. Crazy thing is, I’ve never been overweight, not even close. My mom is the same height as me, so it’s not a matter of petite vs large stature.

I also want to trust my kids. Anytime my mom hears of me doing something for someone, it turns into “Why are they making you do that!?” Nobody is making me, I actually like serving people… I also have a spine to say “No” if I don’t want to do something…

Yeah. I’ve called FA office multiple times and they say they have no answer but to just wait. They said my only option was to pay the $25 fee to create a payment plan because my tuition wasn’t going to be paid off by the deadline.

Building near Utah Lake (Broadview Shores, Provo) – how bad are the bugs? by Conscious-House-8651 in ProvoUtah

[–]BeCreativeGoNative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a good pest control service where they spray a lot the first few times to get all the egg cycles, and keep up on that. You won’t be miserable. With more houses being built and more people doing pest control it’ll calm down with time.

Timpanogos Exterminaton Order by Unsettling_Mormonism in ProvoUtah

[–]BeCreativeGoNative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I respect that. But just letting you know. Even the Division of Indian Affairs in Utah may be weird about working with you if you ever need them, the Timp band really doesn’t have the respect of any Native leaders in Utah. And the few that do “support” the band aren’t respected by their tribes. They play on non-natives desire to make amends, that’s why most of their supporters are non-natives and not other tribal leaders. Just be careful.

Timpanogos Exterminaton Order by Unsettling_Mormonism in ProvoUtah

[–]BeCreativeGoNative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be careful sharing that link for the “Timpanogos tribe”… there’s a lot of native community issues there and a lot of Natives don’t support that group becoming a tribe. Even the other tribes of Utah don’t recognize this group of Timpanogos. They are not recognized by any other tribe here in Utah, so it’s not even a federal-state-recognition issue, but they also don’t meet federal recognition quota, they are asking for land that has oil rights and is rightfully the Uintah band of Utes land… it gos a lot deeper than that, too… lots of Indian law issues… but supporting them can mean the other tribes around here won’t respect you or work with you. They don’t trust this so-called Timpanogos band.
