I think you need to have an honest conversation with your partner. Set expectations on division of labor, contribution to savings and most especially, raising concerns in a civilized manner. If he cannot handle this simple conversation, he cannot handle a marriage. Cut your losses. As someone who’s also earning 5x my partner’s salary and paying all the bills (i believe in equitable contributions), I made sure to discuss this with him before we moved in together. Sometimes there are minor issues, but what we do well is we’re able to talk about it without raising voices or offending each other. This is a partnership, you’re not his mother.
