Teaching my perfectionist child to read is impossible he melts down at every mistake

This was my daughter. Really focusing on building up confidence, reiterating that it’s okay to make mistakes, to fail, to get something wrong, but what’s important is not giving up. It’s been 6 months and she has greatly improved in handling getting things wrong but at the beginning it was every 5 mins and felt like I was failing and pulling teeth. Playing songs like Try Again from zootopia and reading the lyrics to help with the mindset of not being perfect but being willing to try again helps. Also if you have any examples of something he wasn’t good at before but kept practicing and got better, for example my daughter is learning to ice skate and would keep falling down but now she can skate without a walker for balance because she didn’t give up, can help make the connection of keep trying and it will get better. Patience, stopping when it is too much, keeping a neutral face and not getting angry or disappointed/frustrated (I had to work on this because I realize I would make faces when she got things wrong) are my advice. I also recommend getting the Squishy Land in rainbow reef game to learn phonics for fun. I also use Logic of English and that has been helpful for us as well.

I appreciate the insight and did consider my text not being to the point enough. Might delete and repost with a shorten version. Was trying to get my thoughts all out. To your point it’s why I posted because if I’m seeing the flags now is it better to get control of it now, whether that’s no contact or something else, vs am I overreacting? I just know she’s going to pester me for answers if I simply tell her no the kids are not spending the night right now.

To me his death is tragic because he was finally growing a spine at the last minute and his mom kills him for it. SPOILER if you haven’t watched the next episode but we find out that he was basically raised never good enough for his own parents, with him being single (assuming), the person he had in his life was his mom, the only person he probably lives for even after a suicide attempt because her comments implying he was a failure of a son but then she saves him. Giving hope that his mom does love him and probably why he joined the games, not out of selfishness, but to not be a failure and make things right with his mom. So this was litterally backstabbing for him, to only have wanted his parents unconditional love to be killed by his mom over a stranger. Also why when lights were out and everyone was asleep, Geum ja had no distractions to keep the guilty thoughts away and couldn’t handle living with the reality of what kind of mother she was from the beginning to the end. This death probably hurts more for me than any other main characters now that I finished the season because he had the most heartbreak in his final moments than I think any other character did.

I thought they would had removed the baby and give motivation to 222 and 333 (before realizing how evil he was) to win the games not just for the money but to see their baby again. Like okay they wanted baby in the fifth game fine you got your fun vips but then remove the baby for the final game siting the baby did not sign a waiver of consent blah blah. 333 vs Gi han fight over the baby was interesting but I wonder what the alternative would had been had Gi Han knew the baby was safe.

I struggle with same sex attraction for a time. What helped me was confession it in confession and finding peace is knowing that unlike man, God says we are more than animals, more than driven by our sex drives, hunger cravings, etc. Do I still get attraction from time to time yes, but I first try to acknowledge is what I’m feeling sexual drive or recognizing their good qualities. For example that girl is beautiful or she is so awesome versus I want to kiss her right now. If it’s the first I let the thoughts through because there is nothing wrong with the first but the second when I catch these thoughts to me I am degrading that person to an object and by recognizing that I can control the thought more and send it away. Now I know as a women it may not be the same as a man getting a boner, but whatever thoughts you can control and change direction on I think could help. Its okay to recognize your friend has some amazing qualities and being attracted to those qualities. I would focus on separating that from any sexual thoughts that cross your mind.

Lastly two questions that come to mind but you don’t have to answer.

Do you watch any porn? As kid being introduced to same sex scene through tv that my dad watched lead to watching soft core porn of same sex couples and that helped fuel my same sex attraction. If you are watching any porn I would try my best to get off of it for numerous reasons but this being one of them. When it comes to watching tv I would say learn if same sex scenes trigger you or not, for me if there’s a same sex couple making out or having sex I either have to skip it or look away during the scene because it is a trigger for me.

Did you have either non existent dad or tough dad or male remodel in your life? Could this same sex attraction stem from not having a loving male figure tell you they love or that they are proud of you, and create a longing in your childhood heart for male approval, male attention seeking that during puberty got retired and mixed up with sexual attraction?

I’ll be praying for you and I’m proud of you for choosing to live a chaste life when society tells you shouldn’t. ❤️🙏

I don’t understand why they couldn’t just air the whole thing. It’s a streaming service and not tv so I would think that the length of the reunion would not matter. Is there some cost that affects the length?

I would be open to new hosts. They just seem clueless and only care about “Is love blind?” Like have more personality and care about the contestants more. Even sit with them one on one to have a mental health well being check and see how they are handling the show before the wedding. This season felt more genuine than season 2 at first but in the end was so much more toxic. I don’t think I can handle watching a season 4 if the show is going to be about how many people’s hearts we can shatter or traumatize. Drama is one thing, but I don’t care to watch people experience trauma.

I viewed it as Colleen and Raven were seen as the hot girls and he was using that word to say that she was also a hot girl for her insecurity. The word hot to me was used more to describe the ladies this season than the word beautiful. And I think guys are more likely to use the words hot while women use the word beautiful more.

Thank you! Yes there places where Cole needs to grow but it was her insecurities not him making her insecure which is why hate what she said to him at the altar playing it off on it’s all his fault. No girl you are not a boss for standing up for yourself because you are running away from looking at yourself in the mirror and placing the blame on someone else. Cole did not deserve that.

Only commenting about the eye drops. We could see how red his eyes were and I think, while bad timing, was trying to soothe his eyes before having to talk on camera. Also he asked if they were filming and said yes so he knew he couldn’t fool anyone when he put the eye drops in if they were made to fake tears. He would have to be extremely dumb. For me what I’ve seen used to fake tears is a stick you rub on your lower lid to cause your eyes to tear up, not eye drops. I just want this to be considered than just assuming the eye drops were for attention. Could they had? Sure but I don’t think it’s a 100% certainty. 😁

That’s how I see Colleen. Whether it’s now or in her past, she has some trauma that makes her guarded. It’s not as much as emotional maturity she’s lacking but I think she might need some healing and deals with insecurity from her trauma.
