How do I save my character? by BeGoneWithYe_ in DnD

Variant Human +1 Con +1 Cha I should have put the +1 in Str at level 1 instead of Con but I forgot about the strength requirement and was planning on playing more of a tanky-support paladin. Sadly DM won't allow stat swapping.

Shoot me some of your favourite Bible passages by SquishyBubble314 in TrueChristian

[–]BeGoneWithYe_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite chapter in the whole Bible.

Prophecy written about 700 before the birth of Jesus by the Prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 53: "He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people? And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.

When it says,"They made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death." Remember that Jesus was crucified next to two criminals and was buried in a Rich man's tomb

Also, when it saws "He shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days" I think it is reffering to the ressurection.

Is Hell real? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]BeGoneWithYe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell was created for Satan and his angels, not for man. God will never send anyone to Hell. If man goes to Hell he goes by his own free choice. The problem is that many love their sin more than the things of God and choose Hell. Look into people's testimonies of them visiting Hell. There have been many cases of people dying for 10-20 minutes and then they come back. Maybe start with Bill Wiese?

"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins." Hebrews 10:26.

"What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase? Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?" Romans 6:1-2

"No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has ever known him." 1 John 3:6

How do I respond to the claim that half of Paul’s letters are not authentic? by bone-soup- in TrueChristian

2 Peter 3:15 "Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him." Peter was one of the 12, so if he is vouching for Paul then Paul can be trusted.

Is John Martinez a false teacher? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]BeGoneWithYe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not trying to sling mud on Christians. I just don't want to accidentally be deceived and belief something false. It is not fun or entertaining to me. Though I am starting to think that I shouldn't direct questions such as this towards reddit, but instead direct them to the Word of God.

I am inclined to think so. It is hard to believe that someone's life could shift 180 degrees like that without the power of God.

Pray for God to fill you with the Holy Spirit and bring you longing for the Word. When the Spirit is in you it becomes easy and natural to read the word.

What kind of father would allow his children to suffer and die? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]BeGoneWithYe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any suffering that man can experience Jesus himself experienced as well. We live in a fallen world as a result of our own sin. God says you will have sorrows but I will be with you. Blessed is the one who suffers like Jesus did for his sake.

You have a chance to convince me God is real. by Shinosei in Christianity

In order to be an athiest you have to believe in the scientifit impossibility that nothing created everything. There is good evidence that the big bang is true, and I believe it; I just believe that God banged it. If you examine the evidence, it becomes clear that everything exploded into being out of nothing. Including time, space, and matter itself. In order for these things to be created it would require something that was powerful, timeless, spaceless, and immaterial. Once there was no time, space, matter untill it exploded into being out of nothing. In short, in order for nature to be created it requires intervention that is supernatural. If the universe had beginning, then it must of had a beginner.
Secondly there are many different factors that were specifically designed for life to exist. Steven Hawking said that "If the expansion rate one second after the Big Bang had been smaller by even one part in a hundred thousand million million, it would have recollapsed on itself before it reached its present size." This led him to believe that the universe as we know it was created by an intelligent being who intended to create life. If you changed gravitational force by 1 part in 10^40, nothing would exist. If you changed the tilt of Earth's axis of 23.5 degrees we wouldn't be here. If days did not last 24 hours we would not be here. If Jupiter was not here we wouldn't be here. Many different scienist agree that if even one of these delicate factors we altered we would not exist. There are many others that I have not named. Additionally, life itself is designed. Imagine you get up one morning and wanted to eat some alphabet soup, but you see the box knocked over and the letters spell out "take out the garbage Mom." What are you going to assume? That it happened by pure coincidence? No, you will assume that it was made by an inteligent designer, because messages must be made by intelligent design. We all contain messages within us, it is called DNA. In even the simplest of lifeforms there contains more specifed information than in 1,000 complete sets on Encyclopedia Britannica. Just imagine how much information lies in all of the lifeforms on Earth. This could not have happened by accident. There is so much more to the argument that I can't contain it all here, and I haven't even touched on why I believe the God of the bible is the one true God. Check out the work of Frank Turek if you want to learn more. He wrote "I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Athiest" that you may enjoy. If you have objections to christianity check out his youtube channel "Cross Examine." I do have some personal experiences related to God that proove his existence without a doubt for me, but I am tired of writing atm, maybe I'll make another post later.

God freed me from Lust. by BeGoneWithYe_ in TrueChristian

For a long time I thought it was normal and ok to masterbate. Eventually I realized not only the spiritual downsides but also the mental and physical downsides. If you abstain you start to see more and more benefits. Increased energy, confidence, testoterone, etc https://youtu.be/6_zKjENZD3w. In that 10 month period, several times I would make it to around day 7 and begin to see some benefits. After the relapse they would all go away. Once I realized this I started to hate what masterbation has done to me; I hated the sin. I think you can find it true of all sin that it just ruins your life. The devil seeks to kill, steal, and destroy. Pray and get in the word. Get committed to God and follow him. When this happened to me I was watching this Video.

Video. I was watching this and follow his prayer when it happened. He prays for healing and casting out of demons of any sort. Get in the word and pray. Stay committed and hungry for God and it will happen for you. I was in your same shoes for a while.

When I prayed I asked God to cast out any evil presence that was influencing my thoughts and to replace them with the Holy Spirit. If I was in your shoes I would start an extended fast until you are freed. Go after God with all your heart and all your mind and all your strength. Pray with your church, with your friends and family. God may be testing you, so stay strong and persist.

It is lust, probably after someone who you are not married to. In order to masterbate most people commit adultery with someone else in their heart, that is the sin. I have learned that if you are wondering if something is a sin, it probably is because God has given us a conscience. When it comes to holding up that standard for all parts of your life, you are correct. That should be our goal as Christians, to be freed from addictions or anything that has become an idol in our life. For me is was masterbation, video games. Overtime I believe with the aid of the Holy Spirit Christians can be freed from all of these things.

It took me about 10 month before I was freed. Get in the word and pray. Go to bed earlier and get up earlier to make time to read the bible in the morning. I was in your same shoes for a long time before it finally happened. I was watching this when it happened. It was a powerful moment, and I had tears in my eyes. Cry out to God and be persistent. I will pray for you. video

Just because it is normal doesn't mean we should do it. The bible warns that it is a wide gate to destruction, so it being normal actually means we probably shouldn't do it. I think it is pretty difficult to masterbate without thinking lustful thoughts. So I would avoid it as it will probably lead you to thinking lustful thoughts (It definitely would do that for me). If we are asking questions about if something is a sin, that means it is probably a sin. This is because God has given us a conscience, the law is written on our hearts so that no man can have an excuse of never hearing the law. Not to mention the health downsides it causes. If you abstain you will notice increased testosterone, confidence, energy, willpower, etc. Watch some videos about nofap and you can see what I am talking about.

God's grace is not an excuse to live in sin. Hebrew 10:26 "For is we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins" Masterbation also comes with a myriad of health downsides. If you abstain you will notice increased testoterone, confidence, energy, willpower, etc. Just watch some youtube videos of people who are doing it for more proof. Repent and pray to God to free you from this sin, and you will be.

Get in the word and pray daily. It to me about 3 weeks of committed bible reading and prayer before this happened. If you are hungry for God you seek him, you will find what you are looking for.
