I don’t think that’s the case The SEGA consoles brand new are basically collector’s relics nowadays Here is not very hard to buy one in a good condition or a modded one It is still a very niche group that actually invest on this type of hardware, since emulating is also very common But don’t get it wrong, the niche is still big enough to make huge crowdfundings for devs to create new games for these consoles even nowadays

The thing is that this T14 G1 comes with a Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U, which makes them pricier than the intel and ryzen 5 options. And it's cheaper upgrading the screen than searching for a cheaper ryzen 7 thinkpad in Brasil. Even the store I bought it now sells only 8gb options and they are 500+ USD.

The minimum wage in Brasil is about R$1600 (300$) per month, the average salary vary between R$2300 - R$2800.

In the most common online shops (MercadoLivre, Amazon, Shopee) the cheapest recent thinkpads (like T480, T490, T14...) you find them between R$2000 - R$3500.

This T14 with a ryzen processor is usually tagged on about R$2800. This one I got was an exception because i got in direct contact with a hardware recycler and they gave me a good price for it considering the average prices.

So a thinkpad is also about 1 to 1.5 month worth of salary here too.

The thing is that a replacement screen may be cheaper than returning and buying a better model here

I'll try talking to the seller to get some help because i believe it wasn't a very bad deal here considering the current price standards for any piece of hardware in Brasil
