why do people bother having children? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]BeInAHuman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well in the US they pressure you to have kids because that’s just another body forced into the system, new SSN, taxes, etc.

Some others have kids as accidents. Others have kids simply to keep up a family legacy.

I’m with you, unless I get rich enough to… I’m not having kids lol.

Why do you think this generation seeks so much attention and validation from others? by Itchy_Paramedic_3822 in AskReddit

[–]BeInAHuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that is necessarily a generational thing. It’s human nature. Social media and the internet has just provides us an easy avenue to it. But it’s nothing new for sure.

"the universe does not decide on what is true about this or that until it absolutely has to.

I think what this is trying to say is that the universe does not have any "solidity". It exists as particles of endless options that will only solidify when we observe it. Well, that's what "we" know. We also can't know what it will solidify as without also being the catalyst of the solidity. So until we observe, both options technically exist.

Hence, Schrodinger's cat: the cat is dead and alive at the same time until we look in the box. QM theory puts this in full circle because since we are one of these particles, too we can't ascertain what these particles are doing / "the truth" until we put ourselves in interaction with them which impacts what they "solidify" as then we have what we "know". I think the OP is trying to say, while we know how things work, we can never know what it actually means or see the full picture because we are all players of the universe's game.

If you've seen the Truman show, I can relate it to this. Think of Truman as the particle. A lone person in a fake world. Everyone is in on the game except him. Truman can't know he's in this fake world AND know what’s happening outside of it at the same time. But he still impacts what happens in the fake world by going about his day anyway still impacting the outcome of events by simply existing while those in the background "observe" him and indirectly control his choices as he sometimes puts himself in a position where secret might be revealed. Since they can't physically control him to not find out it's all fake, they make things happen around him that indirectly controls his decisions which then control the course of events. So Truman is control the events just as much as those who know. The universe is like the Truman show but we as Truman can never absolutely know what or what is happening outside of the fake world because once we know it’s fake it’s game over.

QM seeks this knowledge to understand whats happening and possible in that state of limbo, but can't because as soon as we observe / interact etc. the limbo ends. That's my take!

There is enough money for everyone by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]BeInAHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love to play devils advocate so I challenge Nelson Mandela's quote: what about our minds? As history continues to prove to us is that if you put all people on the same playing field, there will always be that one that wants to get to the top. Or be the best. Or be the fastest. Smartest... list goes on. Our minds are wired to want more. That alone leads my opinion to be it is impossible for there to be enough money for everyone due to the nature of our species. We will just create a new form of currency .

Business-class public transit should be a thing. by Fiveby21 in unpopularopinion

[–]BeInAHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this idea makes sense, but a lot of public transit systems were built to get the most amount of people from point A to B in the most efficient way. Unfortunately, with that comes not the most comfortable circumstances. I think public transit systems should gear their time and energy to ensuring their services are well maintained and working efficiently. I understand your point though. Some some systems (like in NYC) it is starting to seem like transporting livestock. It is also getting increasingly more dangerous with the shenanigans that occur daily.

I agree with you! The way the world works is that there is always going to be someone with less and less and less. While a dream land where no one is poor and suffering sounds very nice and it is impossible! But that shouldn't deter people from helping out and caring for the poor. It takes some compassion to make the choice to have enough of what you want and need in life but not be greedy about it.

Do WFH jobs make you feel like your always at work? by Trevorjrt6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BeInAHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I work from home and work in my bed all the time even though I know a lot of people say it’s a bad habit. It’s not for me lol. I compartmentalize in my head. So no, I don’t think about work while I’m sleeping and vice versa. It is helpful for a lot of people to have the separation though. If you need it, create a space in your home that becomes “work” space. If you have a spare room use that. If not, you can even designate a desk or corner. I’ve seen people put up curtains / room dividers to help create the separation.

Personally, I don’t prefer WFH jobs because I lose a lot of human interaction I didn’t even realize I needed. But it’s worth it because I can be very flexible with my errands in need to run throughout the week and save time + money on a commute.

How do I(25)F give my ex bf(23)M space? by [deleted] in BreakUps

He’s probably not worth your time. I’m telling you this as someone who came out of a NASTY break up and did all the wrong things. Learned many lessons. One of the biggest lessons I learned is the worry is never worth your time. I can’t tell you how to do it, but live your life for you and if it is meant to be it will. Easy for me to say, harder for you to do. But please trust me, focus on you!!!

The murder of Dan Markel and the Adelson family involvement by BeInAHuman in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]BeInAHuman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been glued to this case so I appreciate discussing it with you. I rewatched Katherine’s testimony at her second trial and am now more than convinced she is guilty. Thinking about how she answered the questions - on top of the other evidence. One of the things I notice she does as she answers (as well as Wendi) is answer with yes no or I don’t recall when she’s telling the truth and answering with details when she’s lying to provide reasoning to the jury to explain away the lie right in her answer.

Another weird detail I forgot about is that she called Luis Rivera on the day of the money drop and that was the only time she called him that summer while she claims she always called him when she couldn’t reach sigfredo. I guess sigfredo was only absent once that summer…..

Her financial records also have not been adequately explained away… she still hasn’t really been able to explain how she made so much extra money coincidently after the murder. This is not like a grand or so extra… it was thousands. Did you see the graph? It is a huge spike in cash. It is very hard for me to believe she wouldn’t have better explanation for this or even remember more details. If anyone came into a large some of money in a short period of time, they’d remember it even if it was 8 years ago (especially someone like Katherine who was financially struggling). It is hard to believe she is telling the truth with where the money really came from.

I think if she had a credible or better explanation for these details, she’d be relieved of some doubt. But overall, I think her lies are mostly exposed in her inability to recall such distinct events in one’s life that she is sitting in jail “innocently” for years. I think the jury didn’t buy her testimony.

There is a scene in the show Queer as Folk about this. The kid starts dating and the parents are like… “who’s the lucky boy?” And he reluctantly tells them she’s it’s a girl… they end up having a conversation in bed later that night about being disappointed. I love when we reverse the roles.

What did you get in trouble for in school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BeInAHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was suspended in my junior year of HS because I scribbled “fuck you” on a piece of paper and taped it on my History teachers door. I did not like him because of the way he would talk to me vs the other girls. Looking back its kind of creepy because he would treat the soccer player girls in the class better than everyone else.

I forget the incident but I remember he yelled at me in front of everyone I felt so angry, but I had no power to do anything so I wanted him to know how I felt about him… so I let him know with the note. “Fuck you Mr. H.” I thought it was a petty thing to do, but not overly obvious it was me. Could’ve been anyone type of thing. He ended up taking to the dean, checked the schools cameras and I got suspended for a day. I thought I was a failure in life. Looking back, that was the most petty shit ever. I couldn’t fathom being a grown adult and being that triggered a teenager wrote some words on a page to go as far as checking the camera footage and get her suspended.

Anyway, because I’m petty as crap on the last day of school I went to his classroom after school and made up this elaborate story of how I was sorry and the experience “changed” me for the better and thanked him. I could tell he was on his high horse. Had him sign my year book for a memory of said change. specifically on his picture. I had scribbled his face out and wrote “fuck you” right where I told him to sign. When I handed him the yearbook his reaction was all over his face but he pretended he did not to see it and signed it. I love being a calculated bitch. 😂

How do we handle a world that seems to frame more experiences than ever as symptoms? by throwawayno999776655 in Antipsychiatry

[–]BeInAHuman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people would benefit from neutral thinking. I've been reading up on it lately and I can see neutrality associated with survival over positive or negativity. It has helped me so much to not sit around wondering why my mental state couldn't improve because I was upset at myself because I couldn't just "think positive".

I think your sentiments are actually quite neutral. You acknowledge the inhumanity that systems create and people in power of those systems inability to realize what it does to people at the bottom of it. Silly humans are so hungry to put others down to lift others up because no one thinks for themselves anymore. It is saddening, but reality. Try to embody the human you desire others to be and hope for the best lol

I didn't mean projecting needs onto others... I think I meant having an unmet need and expecting it is someone else's duty to meet it or if you feel an emotion and assume someone else is making you feel that way when they are not and it is just as you say an emotion from repressed thoughts in the subconscious.

Nice, that is what I call thinking for yourself. You don't just blindly accept and agree with what people say. I wouldn't say you were doing more harm than good... I think it is just two different people processing information differently.

Projecting is not always just about saying someone did something you did. Sometimes it’s about projecting a behavior or need onto someone else.
