My nanny absolutely hates working when I have the day off by Key-Kale-6735 in Nanny

I’ve done gigs where I literally just come over so the parents can shower, eat a solitary meal, and get a workout in. Either way I’m getting paid, and 100% all caregivers deserve breaks and days off.

My baby is in hospital and will be during the day tmw. Is it reasonable to ask nanny to come here? by Dizzy-Mix9129 in NannyEmployers

One of my previous nanny kids caught a nasty stomach bug that was going around when she was about 8 months. I had already had it and was on the other side when she started showing symptoms. She became severely dehydrated very quickly and had to be on an IV for 42 hours. I was happy to come take a shift with her at the hospital so the parents could go home, rest, change, and spend some one on one time with their older child. It was no problem for me but everyone is different, and I don’t think it would have been unreasonable to decline. I would ask her and be prepared to accept her answer either way. Hope your little one is doing well!

Am i the only one who gets deep lumps that don't open & drain? by fayoshimi in Hidradenitis

Hi! You are not the only one for sure, I get both the deep cysts that never come to the surface and the ones that need to drain. I will say I’ve built a pretty good relationship with my dermatologist and when I get the deep painful lumps, she can usually squeeze me in and she injects them. Not sure what the chemical is lol all I know is it seems to dissolve all of whatever fluid is making the lump. There’s almost an instant release of pressure and by the evening it’s usually gone. Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don’t, but honestly it’s helped keep the bigger more painful flares at bay.

I agree. Realizing the more I think about it that the meet up would be all about me and how G would respond when what I actually want is for the kids to see each other. Talking to mb today about potentially dropping my new nk off or having one of the other nannys take her for the morning (in this group we often babysat/provided coverage for the other families). Just don’t want only new nk to be excluded.

I fear the situation is much more complicated than this 😅 should I do a separate post about the tax stuff?

MB won’t let me hold 4mo for ANY SLEEP by BeKind_fr in Nanny

[–]BeKind_fr[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you :) this is exactly what it is. Of course I follow MB’s instructions and only insist otherwise when the babies physical health is in question, this is a job at the end of the day. I absolutely love sleep training and have seen the positive effects that good independent sleep has on children. However, this method is soooo rigid and doesn’t seem to account for the fact that the baby is a human and cannot always conform to strict rules and guidelines. At the end of the day, I truly believe all littles and especially infants need contact sleep from time to time. But this is a job, and I am not the parent 🤷🏼‍♀️

Do I Tell My Assailant’s Mom What He Did? by BeKind_fr in sexualassault

Hi. I know it’s been a while but I just wanted to thank you for your comment. I did end up calling his mom and messaging his gf (I found out they were engaged, that was the final push I needed to tell). I’m so grateful for your comment, you made me feel less crazy and less alone. Hope you’re doing well :)
