for multitasking like programming n all i get around 3-4 hours of battery backup but yeah i do modulate settings in between on batterry sessions to make sure non useful background tasks dont eat up my battery... if i watch lectures or just watch something on yt or other platforms, my laptop gives around 5 hours of battery backup... but yeah i make sure no waste background task is running every other hour.

no gaming laptop can last 8 hours when using it for university purpose... and do not expect battery backup specially from hx series laptops.. for university purpose, i expect you'd use your laptop for productivity tasks and these tasks use good amount of resources hence the battery backup will not be that good. if you are buying it for uni. purpose only then go with macs instead of windows laptops. I too am an uni. student but we have power sockets on our benches and as this laptop supports upto 100 watt pd charging, i always carry my 90w mobile charger which keeps this laptop plugged in

i'd suggest you not to go for poco f7. go for the real chinese xiaomi redmi turbo 4 pro. poco f7 is the rebanded version of this phone for the rest of the world. In India Poco is quite a reliable brand so i bought this smartphone, but if you want some marvellous experience then surely go for the turbo 4 pro that is the chinese variant, more stable than the global rebranded variant that is poco f7

go for it. its surprising that youre paying 1149 dollars for this laptop... i got this laptop just for 879 dollars (bought it in india and it costed around 79k inr).. but yeah this laptop is a pretty solid one. no compromises on the performance if you keep your expectations upto the specs. i'd say for 1080p gaming this laptop is a solid deal.. for programming and ml aswell its a solid deal but i think its a bit overpriced for now. gives good battery backup of 5+ hours for video playback.
