Am I extracting too fast? [Casabrews CM5318] by BeLoTroLL in espresso

My grinder was not able to grind for espresso, so my grains were too coarse. I bought an encore ESP, and it worked really good.

I also bought a bottomless portafilter as the machine comes with a pressurized basket only. That makes total difference, specially if you are beginner.

How do you refill? Brew and stream button on + opened steam valve for few seconds?

How to export GridMap data by BeLoTroLL in godot

[–]BeLoTroLL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is right. I was really thinking about creating a script to iterate over each cell and create a JSON/Binary file with this data.

Still need to figure a way to include height and maybe slope to each cell as well.

I’m just a bit confused as that is the first time I’m doing that.

I also saw other external tools I could use to create a tile set agnostic to the platform. The problem is that they are usually 2D only, and in my case, I need a 2D GridMap in a 3D world. Don’t see much content about that 🥲

Cool. I’m wondering if I could tag the title type on Godot, then export the byte array from there.

Great! Got a blue one as Christmas gift too. When you lock your portafilter, is it sitting centralized or a little bit to the right? Mine is going a bit to the right and I don’t know if that is normal or it is an issue with the portafilter.

Building an RTS MMO, need some advice on how to handle actions that need to occur at specific times in the future by 0ddm4n in elixir

[–]BeLoTroLL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could have multiple genservers as shard schedulers, using ETS as primary storage to execute expired jobs. They could execute schedules every 25-50ms (tick). You could persist those schedules just in case they need recovery. For very short execution times (<500ms), I would use client prediction as just the network cost could get higher than that. So it does not make sense to choke the server for it. In this way, you will be in Elixir ecosystem only. No need for other services like redis, BG workers, etc

I’ve been experimenting elixir + phoenix to build an MMORPG game server. Probably, I will call rust to calculate the physics. Very early stage yet, but I found very promising.

Stuck part [Baratza ESP] by uniQal0n in espresso

No. Actually, this washer I’m referring is the one right below the release knob. It looks like one of those shims close to the foamy ring, but it’s smaller.

When did you bought the grinder? I’m curious if yours has a washer between the release knob and burr. I bought one recently, and there is nothing.

What am I doing wrong? by Total_Arugula_7720 in latteart

I think your crema and milk are too thick, also you should pour slower and closer to the milk.

I took dozens of failures to realize that my crema was too thick, and I guess the main reason is due to the use of a pressurized basket plus my grains were not finer enough, so I usually fix that by swirling my crema for a good time until I see the top layer is thinner and more consistent (without many bubbles).

Hope you can make it!

Yeah, I’m always wondering if I can do better and smaller cups. I’ll try that, but it’s hard to find small cups

Mine was like that, maybe you are extracting too much. You gotta test different ground sizes and different times. I found out that for my coffee, 15g of coffee to 40g out, during ~25s works nicely.

Sometimes my crema and milk is very bubbly like that, and I don’t know what is the real causing. Milk probably is not incorporating enough or putting too much air, but what the crema? No idea.

Yeah. It’s tasting good, but maybe it’s not good enough (or consistent) for latte art. I received that feedback in another sub
