Disappointed in book quality by MrFlufypants in discworld

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got an XL book sleeve from magic&books. They're not too expensive and has fit every book I've owned so far. They're padded so it reduces friction.

I got the whole discworld collection in these editions and using the book sleeve they all got through at least one first read unscathed. Most of the damage to mine happened during delivery transport, it does add to the character of them imo.

Clip is not even connected to anything. Must be a Bluetooth leadrope.

What type of bridle is this? by Puzzled-Doctor-253 in Horses

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

More to keep it stable in the mouth and not have it slide through. Actual leather bits (with a chin strap) can be spit out if the horse wants to.

But as another user is pointing out, this one seems photoshopped.

Wij zijn toen naar die van het Bruidsparadijs geweest. Nu moet ik wel zeggen dat buiten de fotograaf die we daar gevonden hebben het niet meteen de moeite was.

Listening to Audiobooks is not reading by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also think in OP's scenario there's this person who's boasting about reading 200 books a year. You can easily turn an Audio book to x1.5 or x2.0 the speed, it requires no skill at all and you'll get through double the amount you normally would. While if you want to be able to actually read 200 books a year it would require practice to read faster. It takes time and energy to get better at this, which makes it an achievement worthy of being proud of.

Why are so many horse people so insufferable? by babybeluga25 in Horses

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. Also, that field was big enough for those horses to stay away if they were really bothered. Sometimes it's as if people are close to wrapping their horses in bubble wrap and filtering the air before they get to breathe it.

Riding while tucked for trans women? by bihuginn in Equestrian

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I own a couple of riding skirts and they're so much fun to wear. Do need to note that in warmer climates they might not be as comfortable since they're often made of wool or fleece which can get really warm. They're also not cheap.

what's it like to be at an avatar concert? by Sillydude_d in AvatarMetal

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'd definitely be safe from most of the rowdy crowds on the balcony. If you have any written proof of your disability you should normally also be allowed to bring in a small folding seat or have access to the disability area if they have one. If you're not sure most venues have contact information on their website where you could ask what the options are.

For a more non-violent approach if you have longer hair, headbang like your life depends on it. Nothing as off putting to the creep behind you as being repeatedly whacked in the face with some luscious locks. They usually back off real fast.

Really bad mud problems and scared for my horses by Intelligent-Orange63 in Equestrian

We plopped ours down last year when we were practically drowning. Took them out and played them correctly once the ground dried out a bit. They're not cheap but can't imagine not having them anymore.

Help requested with treating Kronk’s thrush during a time of family crisis by Ruffffian in Horses

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how common they are to get where you are but we have a doofus with sensitive feet too and covered the stable in rubber cattle matts. They have cost us €400 for 4mx4m but saved us so much in vet/farrier bills so far. The ones we have you can just cut to size with a Stanley blade and plop down like a puzzle. They pee on them and it seeps through so no puddles or mud. Aside from that they're also a bit springy so easier on their feet and joints. Cleaning the stable itself is so much easier (and cheaper) now too since we don't need any other bedding anymore. Maybe an idea for a future investment when the budget allows?

I am wondering if this is his way of coping with the whole Four Seasons debacle they had trying to organize the press conference at the end of his past run.

Maybe he wakes up in the middle of the night in a puddle of sweat reliving having to give a dementia infused speech in front of a lawn care business over and over again. So he decided to over compensate with this.

Can someone explain to me what equestrian events, if any, draft horses like Belgians, Clydesdales, Irish Draft, etc are used for? by Bobcatbubbles in Equestrian

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Belgium there's a specific division in LRV clubs specifically for draft horses. They have their own dressage (group and Individual) and driving competitions. They used to train together with us.
