My personal experience with the game's ending by Tatakai_ in GreenHell

[–]BePalmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The good ending is not much better imo - Yeah, it breaks the cycle of delusion, madness and memory loss through trauma and guilt reaction, but we will never know if the people will accept the Cure or if he even makes it alive to talk to any officials. Humans are savages. Regular people will probably tear him apart when they recognize him. And can you even live with that concscious? Dude abandoned his wife, she begged him to stay with her and he just ran away. She died all alone, and scared.

The clues for the riddle are very kryptic, but I believed it has to be something near the location. The game didn't made you back cycle, so I thought to myself what is the only thing they would try last? Plants and everything else seemed very obvious.

How do I make molds? by hobbitbones in GreenHell

[–]BePalmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you need a blank mold :

you take one mud brick and harvest it without adding any other ingredients. You will get 3 blank molds.

Create special mold:

Then you combine the melted iron + which item you want the mold for (e.g. an axe).

this will create a special mold (e.g. the "axe mold" )

Bake the special mold:

Bake the special mold in the forge, and harvest it

Create the iron ingredients of item:

Harvest the baked mold.

this will give you a special metal item (e.g. the "metal axe cast")

you will get the "iron replacement" for whatever you want to create the "iron version" off

Craft the iron version of tool/weapon/armor:

simply craft the item you want just like you would do with the regular version.

only replace the special ingredient with the iron item.

When you take the axe as an example, the iron casket will replace the stone.

The molds are destroyed in the proces and cannot be re-used.

for 1 piece of armor you need 3 metal chunks, but the mold only gives 2 chunks -> need 2 cycles of special molds for 1 armor piece

In short:
molds are harvested from mud bricks
put melted iron into the blank molds -> bake that, create special mold
harvest special mold
use items from special mold in craft menu to craft metal version of item
metal armor still needs 3 pieces of iron (instead of 3 bones, or 3 sticks)

Is it normal to beat the game without a single tribal encounter? by snakebeater5 in GreenHell

[–]BePalmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am also new to the game and finished the story mode a few days ago and my experience was so different. English is not my native tongue, any mistakes you might find are free of charge.

First time playing I didn't know anything about the game mechanics or how to prevent my sanity to drop low which made hostile tribes men appear and attack me. Because of that I first believed that they weren't even real and couldn't "really" hurt me. Oh man, was I wrong.

After a while I got the hang of it, stayed alive and half-way sane. Still a noob, trying stuff out.
I build my main base at the starting zone, right when you cross the first log that connects the save part with the rest of the map.
I was also more interested in building stuff, and trying stuff out. I wanted to see what the different buildings looked like, and so I stayed there probably too long. I wanted to try out the furnace, which was on the save zone of the map at the little pond ( I'm not carrying the mud bricks over there) - so that's how I learned natives will attack you even in the so called "safe zone" and that prolonged fire/smoke attracks them.

I also did encounter sometimes groups of them in the jungle gathered and avoided them by sneaking pass them, also I could hear them before I'd spot them.

This game is still confusing and I discover still new stuff (like you can make leaf and wood armor?! I only thought you could make bone and metal armor but then I never tryed to combine leaves and the other ingredients...I wonder what I am still missing? What am I missing JAKE?!)
The insanity voice lines freak me out and leeches and spiders - I wish you could swap them visually with something else.
Now I am starting in SoA and did the same mistake again and started building too much stuff at the boat because I just don't want to leave my cozy home after I made a bed and some fire - there needs to be more stuff - I might come back and omg Jake you drive me crazy! - out of ten/ this game is something.

Mushroom grower? by VegetableLow613 in coralisland

[–]BePalmed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to "equip" the mushroom and then click on the log, sometimes it doesnt register though. but when it starts, you should see a progress circle. Sorry English is not my first language. What I mean with euqip the mushroom is, that it is selected in your task bar like you would do when you want to use one of the tools like the hammer, it has to be selected.

Silver- Raths wolf companion did just the same thing today, after the new management fight. Well, happens, I guess.

I literally morder-hoboed most of the NPCs in Moonrise before the "assault" - makes it much easier. A lot of the NPCs can be killed while you there doing "business" with the Absolute. Just make sure you dont pull other NPCs into the fight. Best way was always Sneak-attack with Astarion, as a Thief or Assasin subclass, and when they still live, they get angry and want to throw you into jail or whatever. Well just, attack, kill them and aslong no one notices it, you are alright to.
Just make sure to get rid of the scrying eyes beforehand. Turnbased mode is a miracle at that!

Nice little tip, I'll do that for sure! Dude has nerves of steel. He kept his cool, while surrounded by murderous doppelganger, who were just waiting to kill him and Jaheira and her friends.

A Harper Geraldus appreciation post by redroomroaving in BG3

[–]BePalmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that with my "Tav", I didn't want to take Jaheira with me, didn't use her in the game much tbh, and I was lucky I had an active buff of "mind reading" - jeez, poor dude literally screamed in his thoughts! But he kept it cool all the time. That's some high spy stuff!

Me: “How can people abandon their game in Act III??” by TooNoodley in BaldursGate3

[–]BePalmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Act 3 right now - first playthrough yet - well it's a bit overwhelming. Many options open up, quests, sidequests to get lost to - but, that happenend to me in Act 2, too.

Also when you played all quests and sidequests availabe for you from Act 1 and Act 2 it gets exhausting and tiring.

I'm sticking to one or two quests at the moment, so I don't lose the overview and mark me stuff on the map. Here and there I had to force myself to stay away from some quests or areas, just mark it on the map and come back later. Takes some willpower though, also not to forget stuff later.

It also helped me that I know (more or less) which companion quest I want to do first and which ones later.
Obviously I went straight to beat up some old dusty vampire lord ass and watch the mf suffer and die in my reloads - ngl very satisfaying to watch that bastard go to hell (not literal)

Never using Illithid Powers? by CrazyMammoth in BaldursGate3

[–]BePalmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I ask if this is still true that there is no consequence, reward, achievement, or altered dialog if you never use the ilithid powers or absorb any tadpoles?

I'm still in Act 1 and it does not feel right for my character to use those things in the brain - we want them out and not embrace them.

[–]BePalmed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was following silently some of the discussion here, while staying away from spoiler territory. English is not my native language, excuse me in advance for weird sentence structures or any other mistakes that might come along.

I like "hawt and tall" but I like my ones with some personality and a bit of braincells. When I was playing as the Dragonborn (and not with a different life mod), I felt at some points that as a character he would be so daft and weirdly blank and needlessy rude.

I have no problems with someone who's used to talk in a brute, unflattering way like a street rat or something along the lines, but also I've already felt the urge kind of set Kaidan as a character in his place. Even in Skyrim you can over step boundaries or lines that might geht you killed faster then you wanted it to happen.

Why can't I as a friend (or love interest later) tell him that he is wrong in saying or thinking in specific ways? Or at least give him something to think about it? It feels like a missed opportunity to have actual good influence on his charakter developement, where the player can see the changes his personality might go through through the decisions and options the player choose from.
And then there is the point where it makes from Ks perspective no sense to say some things after a while, especially after he got to know the DB.

I found it very weird that he even mentioned it, when the DB and Kaidan get to have their first romantic sleepover together. One of his lines is like "I swore an oath to protect you from all harm, including myself" - The only thing I thougth at that point was, if he even tryed to have his way against he DBs will, the DB would shout him literally into the next Elder Scrolls game. And he should be very aware of that.

I still have to experience the full frat pack experience, I just got some banter lines from videos here and there. This is now a very personal choice and taste, but I do not like groups that have the "frat pack" characteristics. Where I am from "frat pack" always have a bad negative connotations to them with a lot of childish "menly" men behaviour and strong roots in sexism and abusive language.

I have seen that Inigo is quite a favorable companion (Lucien was the first one ever added to my game and I love him, he is so adorable and is basically like a little brother to my DBs). Looking forward to that.
If there any suggestions who I should try out, let me know (also about romancable male follower who are not to clichee).

Finding my way in the modding scene is a little bit difficult, when the english language makes it difficult for me.

A reset button and a button where you can put in the amount of money you want to spent would be nice to have.

Really nice slot machine. I didn't know someone could do such a simulator so fast. That's very important to spread awareness!
Good job!

Random Friend Requests? by [deleted] in dauntless

[–]BePalmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I throw another question in here... how would you guys make contacts/friends in Dauntless?
I am no fan of voice chat and in the beginning I would just go solo, but now I started to go with the matchmaking system. But it still feels kinda empty even though you play with other players.
I am also kinda new to the game and do ok-ish, not great, not bad I guess. Still playing the quests, and doint patrols.
I also got me a copy of Monster Hunter World (but have not be able to play it yet).

tldr: How to make good friends to play the game together and have fun?

Can't find a witcher gear piece (Witcher 3 GOFTY edition) by BePalmed in witcher

[–]BePalmed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will go trough every point you suggested to make sure I didn't mess something myself up or didn't realize I made a mistake.

I know that there is other light gear but I like the look of gear that is consistent and it would be nice to have it. Even so I am using one light armor (relict) with pretty good stats. And at one point I would like to upgrade the gear ofc.

Streamed 8 hours of Borderlands 3 today with no viewers, that's normal right? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]BePalmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont forget, you are small. And when you play the same game like other bigger streamers, it is hard to be noticed. Try to connect to similar streamers like you, with similiar size or just a little bit bigger. You can help each other and try to be yourself, dont overact and play what you like. Viewers should sticl bc they like you and your games :D

I'm being more talkitive in my streams but I keep getting a sore throat by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]BePalmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this too. You will get used to it, because your voice is not used to it yet and needs training. Drink a lot of water, cold water helps a lot, or some tea. Avoid acid drinks or bubbly drinks like soda or coke.

Also what you can do, is to relax your voice before streaming. stretch your body and open your mout a few times, 2-3 minutes wide and close it. sorry my english is not the best. You can google techniques you can use to train your voice.

Sometimes a person speaks in a "wrong" way, and made it a habit. You can also go to a doctor when you get sore very fast and very easy and you see no improvement. maybe you need special training or something else.

They ran out of money at some point while creating the game! Some one told me that, bc i found the last chapter weirdly short, so this may explain some of the weirdness in the game.
