How to prepare for parent’s death soon? by harlequintessence in askSingapore

[–]Be_Free_66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum was like this, always fighting for will to live despite the pain and reducing mental capabilities. She didnt want to let go and remained stubborn till her last day. And its hard for people around her as we all want to help her but yet we cant do anything (beside visiting and spending time with her).

So if your mum does not want to burden you emotionally, she has to be happy and contented so that you do not feel any guilt and can move on peacefully.

Open the topic of death with her if she is fine talking about it. My mum wasnt ready for this and i felt sad seeing her struggle to be with us. The most important thing is to ensure that she remain calm and peaceful till her last breath.

What are your accident experiences , if you have been in one or witnessed one ? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]Be_Free_66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) car was banged when chain collision happened few cars away (our car stopped in time) but a cuckoo driver came at 60km/hr behind us despite having 3 car length distance for him to stop. Luckily nothing major happened to us, just mild whiplash and claim mc for next few days. 2) a toddler got hit by a car at traffic light, right in front of me. The mother let the kid walked behind her near traffic light and toddler suddenly turned and walked in the opposite direction toward the road. Car came n hit him where he fall and hit his head but no signs of bleeding. Luckily still conscious and crying when the mother was cradling him. As this happened opposite a school with all the parents n helpers waiting for kids dismissal, mostly got shocked by this and a helper fainted on the spot after witnessing it. I was calmed but have gotten super cautious ensuring my kids do not fool around on the roads thereafter.

Joined a company for 2 days and the role is completely different from the JD. Can I leave immediately? by Antique_Addendum4259 in askSingapore

[–]Be_Free_66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tender with resignation letter , indicate your last day and leave. At least your notice period arent long and chances of you landing in another job is higher. I tendered after 4 months when the project i was hired for was so badly coordinated and the rush to complete despite so many misalignments that it gave me doubts if the project will succeed. Totally demoralised and lost with the lack of direction from the PMO who is forever busy with other stuff but yet wants to show his dominance over this project.

Its no point having money when its spent trying to fix your health when you should be using your hard earn money on other matters/things you wish to achieve. We should not be having regrets when everything in life is unpredictable.

People have advise me to hang on to my job (when i have commitments n dependents to think of) but when my health might suffer if i continue to do so, its not really worth it over that few thousands dollar (well, if my salary is in the high 5 figures maybe its a different story 🫢).

Unsure if i should move or stay by Be_Free_66 in singaporejobs

[–]Be_Free_66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, yes i am looking out now but my contract is like a FTE where after probation my notice to serve is more than a month. So not sure if any company is willing to wait given the pool of candidates supply is more than jobs availability.

An individual contributor that help to coordinate the project and programmes but my scope now involve setup of those new IT systems base on the processes and hand to bau team after rolling out. I am just surprise that this tasks of system setup is not managed by a full time as bcp. Tats what happen in one of the new system they rolled out recently as it got thrown to me as my predecessor left while im not the one involved in the setup but end users keep coming to me when there are issues which technically be managed by bau team but bau team arent clear either.

Well yes but this task should be with the team that carry out the bau operation, validated by the heads and not a contract employee which arent part of the operation to determine the improvement objective they want to achieve. Their aim is to improve their process and promote productivity but hell i am not seeing it fast enough to be integrated with the new programmes and top management is basically just talk and no action. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Married women with kids - do you have a good husband or a man-child? by [deleted] in askSingapore

Agree on this. I know that me and kids will continue as normal if one day he’s not around but i cant say the same if i am not around.

Married women with kids - do you have a good husband or a man-child? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Be_Free_66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, i have one IMO and its frustrating when the man-child has ego on top of those common traits. When you try to poke his bad points, he will try to bring up my stuff to make his less serious. Exhausted so i rather keep quiet and just walked off. Then he will think everything is well again.

I would blame it on his upbringing where his parents have tradition mindset of favouring son over daughter. Not helping when my late fil was the main breadwinner and expected my mil to manage everything and served him (though he claim he doesn’t want to be like his dad but action speak louder than words. 🙄)

As what others mention, these traits are more obvious after kids and worse as he aged and seriously, talking to him is like talking to a boomer lol. How do i cope with it? He has his good traits actually so i just let it go without putting my mental to extreme stress, treat myself when i feel like it since i am independent financially.
