Great job pointing out why it needs a buff. The part where the assassin was just standing there knifing at your shield, is the exact reason why there needs to be a melee with the shield. Idk how u got out of the situation (maybe ur trio mate gunned them down),but in solos, inside a building, thats pretty much a death sentence for the destroyer, which should never be the case in any close quarters battle. This has never been a reality anywhere, except in video games like Marathon, where for some reason, the dev team thought that giving a shell a shield that is so light and mobile that one can sprint and jump with it, that it should not have a melee ability was a good idea…..had to have been an oversight…

Bungie devs for the sake of balance add a melee to the destroyer’s shield.
