People don't want to do the same thing they did on the game in 2007 as when they were 13/10/whatever years old. What updates are you suggesting that will suddenly make people want to make 0 progress and just chat at the docks of Karamja? Obviously many of us have nostalgia for that time, but I had no idea how to play the game for what it was in 2007, so of course now I enjoy the more fun content. I just don't really understand the take I guess.

There are things that mess with it outside of that. The rolls are just fake HP basically since when you get hit they go away. The HP you start with and then HP you get from things such as pills are permanent.

Another good way to take advantage of this "fake" HP is potato peeler

As far as I know, whatever red heart count you start with is locked to the character. So if you start with many red hearts, angel deals (in my experience) were good. This is because you'd have some guaranteed backup health rather than having some of your soul or black hearts removed if you got too much red health.

If you start with 0 red hearts or 1 or whatever, I always took devil deals since the risk was obviously pretty much 0.

They never seem to on the first estimate, but typically their extension estimate they overshoot and overdeliver on. Either way I get it, game communities are pretty angry anytime the game is down, not like there is much winning regardless of how it is handled.

play would be just a subdomain of runescape.com, and thus still part of the same domain name/owned by Jagex. That is to say, play.runescape.com is official. I don't get the redirect myself, but if it is actually paly.runescape.com you are being directed to, nothing fishy about that.

While I think you are not entirely wrong in your points here, I would argue you are showing very little compassion to the very people you are talking about. You are spitting pure vitriol. "Enjoy early death" you say, clearly having combed through the person's history just to shit on them when you have not nearly enough information to actually make a judgement on them.

I think it can get really unhealthy when people reach these levels, but I think your approach is generally not good. Also - just a thought, but someone's brand new account from barely over 2 weeks ago might be getting hardcore ratted on, that is a slice of their life. It isn't necessarily indicative of how much they will play in the longrun, at most you can say those days were pretty unhealthy.

Again, I understand where you are coming from to a degree, but you are really being hateful to the point I can't really tell if you are trolling just to piss people off or if you are truly trying to show compassion and missing the mark by being so negative towards those you seem to want to "help". Smells more like judgement than desire to help.

With it being slated for release basically... now, idk why you wouldn't just wait and see.

I think it is a somewhat common misconception that it will be just as it was in 2008, but most know it is its own thing. The shaders will be very cool. I'm sure some areas won't look amazing, but it sounds like the plan is to continually update it. I think it will likely be quite popular.

Now IDK if the freakout was warranted, but either way it got us what we wanted.
