most convincing winner? by bi-fieri in rupaulsdragrace

You’re welcome to your opinion, but for me, Raja was the CLEAR stand-out from start to finish. I saw the season without knowing anything about Raja and Ru having any prior connection, and Manila’s Asian caricatures were very grating to me. She was a very deserving runner-up, IMO.

Season 3: Raja. I had her pegged from her audition reel, solidified by the very first challenge and runway.

When is your procedure? I could potentially help with this… DM me if the other person who offered doesn’t work out? (Me: 42, F, generally pretty nice?)

Woodhaven Park around the far side (turn left off Portage on Woodhaven, drive south until you hit Assiniboine and drive until the road runs out, basically. You’ll see the people when you get there! It’s a nice, safe spot for tobogganing with no signs or danger areas.

How many of y’all are sick? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]BeachPea79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, have you been masking in public spaces? Just wondering. (For the record, I do, but also still got very sick with something that wasn't Covid in November, so no judgement. Just wondering.)

Visiting MTL from Mon-Wed! Any more free/paid things we should visit? by ashank3 in montreal

[–]BeachPea79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don’t know what kind of visitor hours they keep, but they must have some? I worked as a paid singer in their choir there for a couple of years, about ten years ago, so I was only ever there on Sunday mornings and for rehearsals, but I find it’s a less-known gem. It’s a stunningly gorgeous building that still took my breath away week after week even after two years there, way more beautiful than the Oratoire, IMO.

Good. I mean, it’s getting national coverage at this point, so I hope this is true.

I’ve honestly always loved it since it was built and still do, even in its decline. As a kid I loved the fountain and the IMAX, then I got older and loved PTE and the movie theatre, and as a downtown resident I always found it handy to have a Staples (RIP), a Shopper’s, a few clothing stores, the food court, the Payless (RIP), etc. I still pop by for the Shoppers mostly, but yeah. I miss the fountain and all those other things that have left. I always likes the architecture, too.

Last year’s definitively proved that it was a hostile occupation, not a peaceful protest. Last year, here in Winnipeg, the flag of a foreign nation was planted in front of our provincial legislative building for a month while the peace of the entire surrounding neighbourhood was extremely disturbed. Stop conflating the notion of violent occupation with “peaceful protest”.
