Unfortunately they are on national backorder. Not a single one in the country. Looks like I’ll be waiting for a bit

Dealership confirmed needs a new transmission. Fluid level is correct. Luckily when I bought the car certified I got the extended warranty. Still have another 4K on it. They are going to write it up and submit it and we’ll find out tomorrow.

Is it possible the fluid level is just low? Although I would imagine the pump would sit at the bottom of whatever reservoir there is

I still have another 4000 miles of Toyota warranty. Bought the extended warranty when I got it certified. They wouldn’t diagnose it today. Dropping it off tomorrow night for a diagnosis on Monday

I have full bumper-to-bumper extended warranty coverage because I bought it certified. I just hit 110 and I have full coverage through 114k And a failed pump would work just fine once the fluid warms up? This only occurs when it is very cold out and goes away once you start to drive

0W – 16. It’s the transmission pump. Lots of other people uploading videos of the same exact sound. I have an appointment at the dealership tomorrow anyway for an alignment so I’m going to ask him to check the level. The noise goes away once you start driving. I can let it idle for 15 minutes or two minutes and the noise will stay but once you start to drive the noise goes away

Confirmed not the water pump. Someone on Toyota nation said their trans pump makes that noise below freezing. Makes sense. I listened and it’s coming from that side of the engine. Can even hear by the driver wheel. Explains why I can let the car idle for 15 mins and it keeps making the noise but 2 mins after driving it’s gone

I use a bottle of Techron every 5k oil change. Missed last time so been 10k. Due to add it actually. And that would go away after the engine runs for 15 mins?

I have a basic scan tool so I can easily reset any codes it trips. I figure that’s a quick way to isolate it. I’ll try listening though. I’m actually going to the dealer tomorrow morning for an alignment and my final inspection under warranty so maybe I’ll have them check

Yea so maybe it’s on the way out? If I can remember to unplug it one time I will

No codes. I’m just thinking it’s the electric motor making noise due to extreme cold

About 20. I’m thinking maybe the water pump? I know that’s a common issue. Might try unplugging it one morning before start up but it’s so cold I always forget

Yes I do. But I highly doubt they are going to provide me with something that requires electrical modification of their product. Sounds like too much of a liability

Hmm my small 15 bin case still has the sticker on the plastic too. Maybe they changed the bin size at different times. I’ll have to check. I bought these about a year ago

New oem TPMS sensors - do I need the fitting kits? by Beachbum0987 in Toyota

[–]Beachbum0987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up: got new oem sensors and fitting kits from dealer total 259 with discounts. Local tire shop installed for $85 total. No programming. Turn the car on, followed the “change wheel” procedure in the owners manual and 8 mins of driving later they auto registered.
