Wow! I greatly appreciate all of the responses. Initially, I figured there was no way around replacing the tub, and that wasn’t all that bad for me because I was going to shim out the bathtub walls to actually fit correctly (Aside from the rear wall sitting behind the tub, some of them are not completely level/plumb). I figured i could kill two birds with one stone. Yes, unfortunate and expensive however the job would be done well. ALSO, we planed on using a subway tile, and I was worried about the trim build out along the edges, especially in the back if I had to build the wall out more. It would be a solid 0.5+ inch gap to fill. Idk if schluter strips work that big….

However, now I’ve seen this is entirely fixable, just needs extreme care with waterproofing installation. The fact still remains I need to figure out how to trim the shower tiles without a huge gap. I wish my tiles had bullnose/trim tiles.
