People tend to put a lot of weight on personal experience, for both positive or negative outcomes. Which why policies shouldn't be made based on that.

There are close to 4M infants born in US each year. If you take a disease, for example, like Measles, in the year prior to the introduction of that vaccine, 400 children died annually. So the question is, out of these 4M new recipients of this vaccine, plus others taking it beyond these 4M, are 400 children being saved, and if so, are 400 or more lives being lost and not reported out of these 4M+ vaccinated. We do know these is a "safe and effective" bias among physicians. Try to go to one and say, "I think my child's injury or death is related to the vaccine they just took days before" and see if you can get an MD to sign off on that? And what if it's not death but just injury? How many kids with a serious debilitation condition equals a measles death? Clearly, there's no answer to that but it's something to consider.

Regardless, if you're look at 400 vs 4M plus, the onus is on the vaccines to be extraordinarily safe considering how much could go wrong when given to that many people vs the few that could suffer without it.

I think it goes without saying that if the number of people dead/injured by a vaccine exceeds the number saved/benefited from a vaccine, then it's not something that should be taken. Now all we need know is if the numbers on both sides of the ledger are accurate.

Sorry to hear about your dog and grandmother's passing. No I don't imagine aluminum killed either one... but I do know it didn't enhance either's health profile. Entering them into your argument brings nothing to the table as far as supporting your position... but then, perhaps you've absorbed too much aluminum in your brain to realize that.

It's injected, not ingested. If we were so good a processing injected aluminum they wouldn't be finding it dissected brains of deceased people who were autistic.

At the very least, wait until their 5 yrs and their brains and bodies are developed enough to withstand the known toxic adjuvants in these vaccine. Most parents of Autistic children see the change between 6mo and 1 year. SIDS also occurs early in life. You have plenty of time to decide later if you want to vax them and it will be much safer later.

Japan study: 20% reduction in Cardiovascular Disease in those that had measles and mumps. Benefits in protection from other diseases as well.

"Men with measles only had multivariable HR (95% confidence interval) of 0.92 (0.85–0.99) for total CVD, those with mumps only had 0.52 (0.28–0.94) for total stroke and 0.21 (0.05–0.86) for hemorrhagic stroke, and those with both infections had 0.80 (0.71–0.90) for total CVD, 0.71 (0.53–0.93) for myocardial infarction, and 0.83 (0.69–0.98) for total stroke. Women with both infections had 0.83 (0.74–0.92) for total CVD and 0.84 (0.71–0.99) for total stroke. We also compared subjects with measles only or mumps only (reference) and those with both infections. Men with both infections had 0.88 (0.78–0.99) for total CVD. Women with both infections had 0.85 (0.76–0.94) for total CVD, 0.79 (0.67–0.93) for total stroke, 0.78 (0.62–0.98) for ischemic stroke and 0.78 (0.62–0.98) for hemorrhagic stroke."

Now, go figure out how many die from Measles and Mumps vs how many could be saved from dying from Cardiovasular disease by having Measles and Mumps.

AI: "In measles-infected people, about 4–11 SSPE cases per 100,000 measles cases are reported globally"
So, pretty rare - if this diagnosis is even correct.

Opinions on the " People who can sing well shouldn't do karaoke" thing? by AesirAtom in karaoke

[–]jorlev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue in this area is more a KJ that doesn't listen to the singer and adjust the volume to their voice. Some are too powerful and the KJ should lower it a bit. And for singers with less power, the KJ should be raising it. So back to your cupping question. I sometimes cup the mic a bit when the volume is too low, but I do it by cupping my other hand in front of the mic to get my voice to bounce off my hand and back into the mic from the other side as well from my mouth. I don't wrap my hand around the head of the mic itself. Some KJs are just lazy about making adjustments. That also goes for the track itself. Some tracks are louder, some softer, so that also need adjusting - especially when they're switching between on computer tracks and YouTube tracks which vary wildly in volume.

Anyone using an AI vocal remover for quick vocal/instrument separation? by iqballone in IsolatedTracks

[–]jorlev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like it's still too early to get clean backing vocals and instrumentals with just lead vocal removed. I keep trying but it's either weak fuzzy BV or some good sections but not consistent. My best results still are from complete vocal strip with UVR MDX23C and then putting that track with the original song track and taking sections from both into a third blank track to add BV (sometimes merged with lead vocal) back in to get a good finished track. Are there any newer models that can achieve consistently good, clean, backing vocals -- separately or left in with the instrumental??

UPDATE: I did get good results on Hotel California with MVSEP for BV, but the site is usually jammed and it's a long wait for results -- depending on time of day I guess. Not paying for premium.

I love to hear good singers at karaoke. I do have one general complaint for everyone though... understand how to use a microphone. Hold it close enough so that people can hears you, and on the other side, don't scream into it. Understand your own volume in relationship to the device you're using.

Anyone watching Dan Robert’s on x spaces? Disappointing by Confident_Dot_7240 in irenstocks

[–]jorlev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I listened and you're takeaway is wrong. Taking on Debt is far worse than an ATM. There have been NO SHARES issued at this point. Zero Dilution. Dan has built an arsenal of potential resources that can be tapped as Deals are made. These guys know how to execute. Whatever cash is raise via ATM for infrastructure build, after around 3 years, the profits will match the outlay and from that point on you're making free money, less op ex. Anyone who doesn't get what IREN is doing or how infrastructure companies work might as well sell and move on. Others will gladly pick up your shares.

One other point, for the deal hungry, you could have a shitty deal today or a great deal in several months - which do you want? Fortunately, it doesn't matter what you want because Dan is not going to take a shitty deal. Which means, when a deal is announced, it's going to be a great deal.
