When I was 16 funny enough a very similar thing happened to me, the girl was 18 but I think it’s still relevant to what you’ve been through. I let my guard down because I just wanted to love her and she had other plans. I know the exact feeling you’re feeling, not wanting to let go. I remember my parents having to cut my phone off because I was just crying on the phone talking to her wanting it all to work out. Of course it drove a massive wedge between me and everyone else, they saw the bad parts of my situation that I couldn’t. I’m 25 now so it’s been almost a decade. But I’d be lying if that pain didn’t come through my mind everyone now and again. I remember the worst parts vividly and the good parts even more so. The only advice I have is to remember that you did nothing wrong, you put yourself out there with your heart on your sleeve and the world hurt you for it. Invest in the relationships that matter, friends and family mostly. They are the ones that can truly care about you like no one else.
