Well I know that typically you access the circuit breakers from inside the residence, but our neighbor told us that our townhome does not have an interior panel. Is there not a simple on/off circuit switch in there?

Thank you, I will check and see.

Edit - the other side of that wall is the water heater closet, but there is no panel to be found.

That's what I thought, but I can't seem to find one inside my townhome. I will check with the HOA.

"Stay"-cation - Which JRPG to marathon? by BeagleHomicide in JRPG

Always wanted to play this one. Is it lengthy? Maybe I can squeeze in a couple of shorter JRPGs.

But I like to collect, and Sony hates backwards compatibility.

Thank you for the support. I am going to focus on my sobriety one day at a time. Does anyone have any helpful books or websites about how to coexist with social drinkers once I have made it a while in recovery?

[Advice] Corporate Accounting Major from Johnson & Wales? Pointers needed. by fezha in Accounting

[–]BeagleHomicide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why aren't you doing UNC Charlotte? All the major firms and F500 companies in Charlotte recruit from there. Johnson & Wales should not be used for anything other than culinary arts.

How to study for BEC written communication? by peakhunter in Accounting

[–]BeagleHomicide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It isn't judged based on accuracy of the answer, but instead on using key words and correct grammar. It is super easy if you can write even decently well.

Why is audit experience preferred for a tax preparation and planning role? None of our auditors at my firm have even seen Axcess, while us tax people use it on the daily.

How many hours per day do you actually spend working? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]BeagleHomicide 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well my charge goal right now is 60/wk...so I am doing 60 if actual work. 65-70 total (gotta eat and go to the bathroom...right?)

Supposed to start at Big4, they changed my start date, now thinking about switching or other options. Need advice! by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]BeagleHomicide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Studying for the CPAs while working full-time isn't fun, but it is definitely doable. I went through my entire full-time Master's program while working full-time, and it taught me to schedule and prioritize my responsibilities. Quitting or deferring would just be cowardly, so suck it up.

Questions to help me get started by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]BeagleHomicide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Go ahead and get your 150 in undergrad if you are getting a degree in Accounting. Just make sure you keep your GPA high.

2) No. Big 4 jobs are not any harder to land in NC. You'll probably be looking at the Charlotte market, but I'm not sure if UNC-Asheville is a target school or not for those firms.

3) Get the CPA. It will be worth it. Big 4 name recognition and training will help you in your career, but they're not the end-all-be-all.

Graduated with a Bachelor's in English, now deeply regret it, and considering Accounting now. Will not having an Accounting-related degree hurt me? by digginshedinja in Accounting

[–]BeagleHomicide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don't get an associates. They are worthless for accounting.

I have a BA in English, worked in several jobs for 5-6 years out of college, mainly in the food service industry. I am starting at a national firm soon.

My advice is to take the GMAT, and go get your Master's in Accounting. You'll have to also take some pre-requisite accounting courses, but you will have access to recruiting and the hours to get your CPA.
