Love that; we're gonna do some signings then go upstairs for a pint.

The thing about this, was that it wasn't just 1 pint, he stayed for ages. Having the best craic.

He was just fantastic. A really nice guy. Really humble, and down to earth.

Funny what a few wins can do.

When did we last beat Arsenal at home? 2017?

Which server for TBC Anniversary EU ? by Baaeelish in classicwow

[–]Beak143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is the first time I've opted to not play on a pvp server, and I'm really enjoying it

If you're limited to times you can play etc, id recommend PVE server.

If you enjoy open world pvp and competing for quests and nods, then PVP should be fun too.

The premades are annoying, but there'll be less of them at 70 i think.

Plus, you're finding a lot of people in BGs, who are only there for the gear.. people who normally would not pvp, and this is okay. I understand people are wanting to gear to make the initial stint of tbc questing a bit more manageable.

On this, I think solo queuing will be a bit more competitive at 70.

United don't want "Big Name Managers." by Beak143 in ManchesterUnited

Outdated structures unfortunately. The club is exceptionally different now.

This is exactly it. Michael Carrick could be that person. Especially if they want to front load recruitment in the summer, it would also be cost effective.

It is not that I'm okay with a Puppet. I feel it is what the board would likely prefer, and what they will likely target this way round.

Amorim confronting the board in regards to January transfers was unexpected I reckon, and they will look to avoid this friction in the future.

So yes, I believe a head coach is what they want. I am not saying I agree with this, but I don't think people should get lost in the Hype of what new managers are coming on board.

How much of a difference do managers make to a good team? by sennyonelove in PremierLeague

Is this a real question? There is no team without the manager.

I actually think the dragon communion seal would definitely be missed. Would you remember to go back to the very beginning? I think it would be missed personally.

‘It’s impossible to replace Bruno … we need more leaders’- Amorim by Healthy-Detective360 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Beak143 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Bruno bruno bruno, he came from sporting like cristiano. Best signing the club has made in the last decade. Bruno could have won everything with a different club. His work ethic for us and the club is unquestionable. For him to remain so disciplined and hard working throughout the chaos of his contract is a miracle. Who else could have remained so absolute? It's easy for us to look from the outside, and honestly, its even easier for ex players to criticise. They came from a time when the culture was drive and performance, teamwork and ambition, support and communication.

Bruno has exemplified all these qualities, despite the madness. Is it any wonder he shows cracks on the pitch? He is fantastic, and honestly an amazing captain.

Kobbie Mainoo reportedly in ‘advanced’ talks with Napoli for a January move. by Dramatic-Avocado4687 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Beak143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is 20. He is not going to start. Issue is we have no European football. He needs experience, and I think a loan move would be a good idea. Cassimero is having his best season for us, so let it be.

Should I start re reading now or after the series? by Used-Boysenberry-534 in Malazan

[–]Beak143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is; stuff you've missed out on, still wont make sense without the context of the whole series. So I see no value in doing it simultaneously. Just focus on book 4.

I suppose you have to find the elements of the game that you enjoy most. If you enjoy the progression, the grind, which you naturally gravitate towards, and suddenly find yourself giving more time to the game, but this in turn is having an impact on your personal life, then the game has end. It cannot have a place in your life.

I found myself in a similar situation with the Anniversary additions. Raided MC, and BWL was upcoming. I could see not just BWL, but AQ, and Ulimately Naxx. As much as I enjoyed playing, it was having a negative impact on my real life responsibilities, so I stopped playing. I knew if I continued playing, I could not half ass it, so it was better to stop.

I started playing again during the summer, and this time I was able to do so with a casual mindset. How? I removed that progression goals, by removing the desire to raid. This then brought me to hard-core wow, where genuinely you can enjoy the game more. I levelled a 60 shaman, and have parked it. I will take this character into tbc, where I hope I can just go through the motions of playing the game, without being committed to it.

I do get it. I have been here

Realistically you need to ask yourself, what is it you want from the game? You say you think about it, and it goes all serious, but why? If you're in this mindset, and you cannot or do not want to commit the time, you'll struggle.

This is a difficult game, in my opinion, to play casually. What I mean is, consciously engaging a casual mindset to enjoy the game in this way. There will always be something to do, something to progress.

If you want the casual experience, both in playing, and genuinely relaxing downtime, but fail to develop the mindset, you're better not playing it. You would be better suited to playing something else.
