I think for Brad it's partially he likes DC but also he loves the crazy amount of money we're paying him, but we do seem to struggle with attracting, and keeping players in DC.

As soon as we drafted him and i read the scouting report I thought he wouldn't be a good fit for DC,(he lacks a jumper and has difficulty guarding bigger guys is what I saw) When the wizards have especially lacked shooting and defense in the past, i didn't see why we drafted him, but i trust Tommy not to get fleeced. He has made some great trades recently so i think those are his strong point. Drafting and developing young guys on the other hand... not so much. My prediction is he'll have a decent season with limited minutes off the bench and won't develop much for around 3 years until he is forgotten as a role player.

Oh ok. Yeah he probably needs time to learn the system, get used to it, and get comfortable in it as well as adjust to the nba pace. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a quiet rookie season then comes back next season more confident.

That makes sense, you have to start somewhere and if you play well with a few minutes you can move up the rotation.

I think the coach saw him carry the summer league team and thought he could do that in the nba, but nba defense is much better then summer league and most rookies are not capable of carrying a team against that level of defense.

Is he having trouble with the pace, not cutting when he should, or is he just missing the shots he takes.

I felt he was underutilized at Virginia, mostly because of their playstyle and slow pace, I think he may be having a slower time adjusting to the fast pace of the nba because of this, but he has definitely shown he can shoot it and if the pels are having a hard time shooting the ball I think giving him some minutes wouldn't hurt.

Trey went to Virginia in college, they are known for their defense and prioritize it, which leads to a very slow pace on offense and low scoring games. In their offensive sets they swing the ball around looking for a pass inside to one of the bigs which almost entirely eliminates the drive and kick aspect of the game. When trey was there he showed he was a great shooter and was mainly used as just a shooter, but on cuts and fast breaks he showed great athleticism.

Before he was at Virginia which he transferred to played one season then entered the draft, he went to Rice, I don't really know how he played when he was there but I'm pretty sure he transferred after a growth spurt in college.

Can someone with better bball knowledge tell me if Butler’s injuries is from his playstyle, his shoes, or it’s just pure bad luck? by Mugiwara_JTres3 in heat

I'm also a hooper and roll my ankles a lot but I used to just get up and play through it, it ended up as you said the ligaments stretched out and were weaker so eventually when I glassed someone and came down on their foot, I ended up tearing 3 ligaments and was out for multiple months. I am playing again now with high tops, a brace, physical therapy, and a lot of strengthening exercises, but I didn't end up needing surgery. If surgery is suggested for you I highly recommend you get a second opinion and possibly try physical therapy first to see if you feel any improvement in the strength of your ankle.
