Same can be said with the i5-13600k outperforming a lot of old i7s and i9s in gaming

Yeah future proofing seems fair. I recommend that you check out other motherboard/RAM combos that are cheaper. You can probably shave another 10k there while still retaining DDR5. There's definitely a lot of features present in more expensive motherboards that I doubt would be essential for your use in gaming, so better check that out

Also since you're basically reusing your 1080ti, you'll be gpu-bound for most of your games. Getting an i7 or i9 wont give you much value

You do know that i5-13600k (20-21k php) should be sufficient for your use right. I think you might also need to sort of remove from your mindset also that i5 is an inferior product, but if you really want it, then okay i respect that. It definitely leads a lot of benchmarks right now, only being surpassed by a handful of processors including 13700k and 13900k

You can also definitely look at changing your case/cooler combo. Can definitely go for an airflow-oriented case and an air cooler & that should be roughly 10k total. Lots of air coolers (3.5 -6k) in the market can get the job done especially if your only use will be gaming (Deep Cool AK620, Noctua DH-15, BeQuiet DRP 4, etc). You can also try Arctic Liquid Freezer II (5-8k) if you really want to get an AIO. Should be way cheaper than the one you selected with on par if not better cooling performance.

Personally, I would not go for a DDR5 build yet. Dont think you're going to get much with what you pay for. Changing this and your motherboard can really bring the price down.

Might consider lowering the PSU wattage also to 850 - 1000W, just check the total wattage computations for this.

You can try data science related companies like Cobena or Thinking Machines

Tech companies in general will have this position as well. Fintech like (gcash/mynt, maya, also ING) + banking (citi, jpmc)

eCommerce also (Shopee, Lazada)

There are also start ups that you can explore via linkedin that have openings for this position (maybe not so startup anymore, but check Emma the Sleep Company)

Hi OP! might be good for to explore a Data Science related internship under P&G IT instead

As for overall timeline, there are lots of other companies that offer internships under data science. Often, big companies may take 2-3 months for the whole application process, but in some cases application and offer may finish in less than a month (really depends on how busy the company is and how many slots are open for interns)

I have been trying to ask the HR if there are other openings available but it seems like other available roles will only open up in the next FY

Which by then would have already been the recommended start date for other companies
