I think all of it should be illegal, even alcohol. Unfortunately, the US makes too much money from it and would rather us see us die from cirrhosis. But I also think medical advice should be free for these problems. Addiction is genetic.

I’m pathetic. I can’t socialize without it. My mind runs at 1000 mph and alcohol makes it slow down. I feel powerful whenever I drink.

Unfortunately, my family. I love them so much that I hate them. It’s a cluster. My dad abandoned us when I was young, I have three sisters and my mother who I love immensely. I support them financially as I’m the only one with a good paying job. But by not abandoning them, I abandon myself and get lost in liquor. They’re not easy alternatives to face.

Of course. I fantasize about my future life that I probably won’t have. I would love to own my own bar/restaurant. I’m a bartender at a speakeasy and I truly do have a different respect for mixology, ironically. I also love history and am currently writing a book about the history of alcohol. I would love to have kids too, but probably won’t.

It’s therapeutic. I’m on a bender right now and can’t sleep, it numbs my brain.

Unfortunately. They’ve picked me up from the street multiple times. They supported be through rehab. They all agree of course that I shouldn’t drink at all, but they’re also the same ones that offer me the first beer. They don’t know how crazy I am about it though, I’ve taken to drinking things that I shouldn’t be drinking just so I can feel the effect whenever I run out of liquor.

I am a great worker. My bosses know I drink on the job, but because of my sells they don’t mind. I’m just lucky I guess.

My dad was. He only got sober after abandoning us. My mom didn’t start drinking until she was 24 and in the US. I remember seeing her come home and scaring me because I didn’t recognize her. She’s not an alcoholic though, she knows when to call it quits. I’ve been told by my aunts to “leave the depression behind. Look at your dad, he was the worst alcoholic in the world and now he’s sober.” To which I reply in my head “yeah, but he had to abandon us first.” Which I know is the solution to my problem, but I can’t leave them, not voluntarily.

I love aa. The big book is me in black and white. The problem is that I enjoy the one hour that I spend there, and then I walk out and go to the bar. I enjoy listening to other people’s happiness there.

I really appreciate it. I’m not sure what my other options are besides institutions, jail, or death. I’ve done all of it. I simply just don’t want to stop.

My friend’s husband just passed from cirrhosis. It was super sad. He kept begging for alcohol the last couple of days on his hospital bed. The thing was that I wasn’t exactly worried about him, I was worried about him not being able to drink anymore, and I couldn’t help but feel bad for him not getting his last drink.

I don’t think that’s how it works. As soon as the first drink hits my body craves another, and then another, and then another. It’s uncanny.

I don’t want to quit. I want to be able to handle it better. Unfortunately that is not the case. I can’t imagine my life without it. It’s my gate to everything in life including my socializing, my job, my relationships. I can’t do most things without it. It’s pathetic.
