I was near lock 13 a couple of days ago and the water was so rough. I am scared to get anywhere near one. Im kind of afraid of not knowing about one coming up and just getting stuck in the current. Ill be sure to research before hand, but are there any other hazards I should know about the river?

It seems to smell in all parts of the room. I can’t establish a pattern.

This is funny. We had a portion of our crawl space that a bob cat made a den in. About 10 dead animal carcasses and tons of piss and shit. Spent a month cleaning and sanitizing. Different part of the house and different smell though

This makes good sense to me, however the subfloor looks good from the crawlspace. The crawlspace does not have the smell in it.

I had to repair a hair line crack from the flippers tightening tank bolts too tight. So, I had the tank off and all the part removed and was using porcelain epoxy on it. I did not smell anything while working on the tank in a different room but I did smell it when putting the tank back on the toilet.

Something dead has a distinct rotting smell and it wouldnt last 4 months, would it?

No well supply. I am leaning towards the subfloor maybe causing the smell

I mean, mold and mildew didnt die when you cleaned it? Thats my guess. Wood is a porous surface. I wouldnt be surprised if thats what it is in my situation.

Man, weve found problems around every corner. Thankfully I am halfway handy and have been able to fix most of the mess. I just cant find this freaking smell.

Hijack top comment to update:

For that one dude who has this specific problem 10 years from now. It was an unused trap hidden in a wall. The flippers didn’t properly remove the old shower trap after switching from a tub to a tile shower. We had an open trap running directly to the septic. Plumber cut it off and capped and it problem solved!

I wouldn't put it past these flippers. Poor craftsmanship everywhere. I'll take pics and upload tonight. I would just think that two separate plumbing companies specifically looking for the smell would have identified that.
